Re: Artillery
ok, i do agree with some kind of small arty that can be used by SL's every 30 mins or so. Also, the idea of a deployable mortar (instead of an AA enplacment, or a 50 cal) that can be used by players. (it would be one manned, but 1 spotter would greatly help.) its just 2 boots off the field, so get over it. there usually is the typical 2 guys sitting around not able to get in a squad anyway.
and just a note, carpet bombing and napalm bombs are outlawed by the geneva convention.

I doubt the MEC and China are going to handicap themselves by following a set of rules whose only enforcers are the very nations that they are fighting. It's like you're trying to overthrow the government but you won't shoot at the government police because it's illegal.HughJass wrote:and just a note, carpet bombing and napalm bombs are outlawed by the geneva convention.

Then put planes on Fool's Road.... that is my point.Zimmer wrote:M_striker what I think the OP means is that on maps like Fools road it would be nice to have some sort of assist weapon more then just a JDAM/Artillery strike every hour would be kinda nice.. On maps with air assets these assist weapons are given to the players.
I'm just saying... if there is a map that has air support available, might as well put the assets in the map that is going to conduct the air support.

carpet bombing AGAINST CIVILIANS is banned by the geneva conventions, not against military.HughJass wrote:ok, i do agree with some kind of small arty that can be used by SL's every 30 mins or so. Re: Artillery
IIRC the US does not use Napalm, it uses some substance that is sufficiently different from Napalm to just get around the Geneva conventionbaptist_christian wrote:carpet bombing AGAINST CIVILIANS is banned by the geneva conventions, not against military.

Re: Artillery
We need put mortairs operated by soldiers the alcance is 2 km and the maps size is 2 km, we have puta a limit municion to artilhery, and when this munition over is over your artillery, we can put a Brasilian sistem mlrs for MEC, he real used in a golf war by saddam, and we can put cruise missile, put Radars and try apply the size to 200km, is a real size in a real war, and we need more 500players to make this mod very similary to war,we can put UAVS controled by pilot in ground in a van, and this UAV can carry a Hellfire and desegned targets in ground,we need put a damage to ground creating crates when some projects hit the ground, but it's necessery change all programattion of the bf2, creating a new game.

Re: Artillery
We cant have planes on all maps. And its rare that you even get proper air support by other players, communicatons are simply to poorM_Striker wrote:Then put planes on Fool's Road.... that is my point.

Well generally, I think that assests like artillery should be player based. As in you have a spotter or someone with those SOFLAM binoculars. When they 'lase' the target the Artillery can fire on that position. Much like how air support is currently implemented.

Re: Artillery
And we can put a limt rounds fire to artillery and remove the time of 30min, if artillery over you lost she,and we can put limit reamunicion in base for vehicles and jets, we can put mobile artyllerys how mortairs can armed and disarmed by engeneir, and transport for very vehicles, and if we can search space in some helis for transport light vehicles, and the A guns have be mobile by transport truck and some apcs and tanks.
we need put MLRS it's will fun and powerfull and put solfiers with radios to spot the Grade for artillery strike, and the mortairs can view a grade map to fire,oe fire without view the Grade map. It's very easy to explain if some one espeak portuguese.

Re: Artillery
Just lower the arty time from 1 hour to 20 min for conventional forces. Mortar time from 30 minutes to 10. JDAM should stay the same. SL marks the location commander approves.
No officer kit/cell leader kit ( those are for INS and militia)+ no commander=no arty/mortar.

That'd certainly be a good incentive, to get more people to apply for commander.sakils2 wrote:

EDIT: Heh I just thought, isn't that how things stand at the moment anyway?

Re: Artillery
I don't like the MLRS. It's probably just too overpowered. IF this would be implented, I'd say you just use the 155's as the heaviest arty available. Or else you'll get just too powerful arty.

Re: Artillery
You sure? IIRC both have been used recently in Afghanistan and Iraq. There are other reasons to why they aren't used as widely anymore. Mainly because Precision bombing is so much more efficient and the collateral damage these two methods cause might have a negative impact on public opinion.HughJass wrote: and just a note, carpet bombing and napalm bombs are outlawed by the geneva convention.

Re: Artillery
I do agree with you on some of it, but more people spending time on crewing the arty would mean less infantrymen out there. Imagine Kahsan desert!Army Musician wrote:Well generally, I think that assests like artillery should be player based. As in you have a spotter or someone with those SOFLAM binoculars. Re: Artillery
What do you mean? That when there is already alot of players fooling around on the airport waiting for aircraft/vehicles, then there is also gonn be alot of troops mounting the artillery? It would be like WW1 minus the trenches!

Re: Artillery
Yeah, I don't think there's really any need to have the arty player-based. Things are quite stretched as it is some maps.

Re: Artillery
No need? If anything there's a massive need, especially for more organized play. The ability for the player to direct heavy ordinance like that, allowing precise strikes and determined areas of effect is essential. Off map artillery just doesn't cut it.moj wrote:Yeah, I don't think there's really any need to have the arty player-based. Things are quite stretched as it is some maps.
