A message of appreciation

Post by Gaz »

To [R-DEV]Outlaw22, [R-CON]Hans Martin Slayer, [R-CON]ballard_44 and the PRSP testers,

I just wanted to say a big well done on the recent release of PRSP 0.8. I remember when PR_SP was starting out. Outlaw22, you've done a fantastic job co-ordinating this, controlling the releases, and keeping the SP aspect as close to MP PR as you could, without sacrificing usability.

I downloaded it yesterday and it installed with ease (compared to earlier versions hehe). The files are a reasonable size, and you're not hitting users with another 2Gb download, if they have to grab PR MP first :D

Upon firing it up, I was surprised at the new main screen. Good job guys, it looks well. After intially wondering where all the maps were, they refreshed and they appeared. I think that was about the only drama I had, for about 30 seconds on first running PRSP, and it sorted itself.

Jumped into Basrah for a spot of Insurgency, and 3 hours later, came away with a smile on my face. I was amazed at how much of MP gameplay you guys have been able to place into the SP side of things, a=so A1 job on that. The bots are far better now compared to how dumb they were in the early days of PR_SP.

PRSP has matured, and has become a very complete addon to the normal PR install, and its level of 'value added' is huge in what it adds to the playability, usability and longditivity of the original install.

So well done gents, give youselves a pat on the back for the excellent work you have all done. But one thing, keep enjoying it :) I know you have me hooked on PRSP now.......********.

Thanks for the kind words Gaz and this sort of appreciation only makes me want to make it better and better, lets hope we can do justice to 0.85 and future versions as well.

I still have ideas for the Ai and hope to improve it even more so stay tuned.

So we have another DEV hooked on PRSP hehe.... (we must be doing something right)

On saying all that there are still a few bugs with the mod (think I've worked them out now) but will be fixed in the next patch.

I'm just going to sort out a Map Pack 2 and try to release before Xmas and then we will take a short and well deserved break before starting on 0.85.

Thanks Mate.

I must say - I have to second all of Gaz's comments, I was impressed when I downloaded it myself .... not sure how many months I have been pestering Outlaw to get an Installer for this, but now you have and its a credit to each and everyone of you.

The dedication you have ALL put in is unbelievable, it really is, and it is of no surprise that this is the best SP I have ever played, as you have the balance just right, and its not VBF2'ish at all.

This release is the "polished" version of PRSP, and is now 100% part of the whole PR package.

I didn't think I would but I have played a few hours myself on it, and will be returning for more I am sure, just what you need for a quick fix from time to time.

Anyway well done overall lads, and now you need to get the other modes working, along with co-op server files so I can get the [ABA] server running on it as a tester , no rest for the wicked eh .... lol ;-)

I second the sentiment (or third or fourth or whatever).
The seamless installation alone is great. What a difference from the last version.

Oh yeah, this made all the difference when it came to me saying "should I install it".

Good job guys, I'm having allot of fun with this right now, hope it's even better for .85!

The best part was playing on Basrah in an apache, if you look in the Dictionary, and look up epic, being in the apache on Basrah SP is there.

It automatically sends it out from the news thread to the front page, and also to the external game sites too, a feature we have for our news posts.
