Changing damage properties on civilian cars

I would like to see the same type of "loss of drivetrain/system" damage that armored vehicles have in game implemented in civilian cars (and possibly in other ground vehicles as well) in regards to taking damage from driving on difficult terrain. As it stands currently, the civilian cars explode unannounced when crossing difficult terrain. I have never heard of spontaneously exploding off-roading civilian cars. I have lost many a life due to the tendency of the cars to explode unannounced after taking damage offroad. Please review the current status quo in regards to this issue.

I had not seen that thread, due to its poor title. It is a very similar thread. Additionally, the poor thread title obligates me to try to attract attention to the issue by reposting here, possibly resulting in that thread merging with mine.
