i dont think your weapon all of a sudden being redrawn is a good idea. i like the dizzyness as it gives you a second where you can't focus and aim. you could still shoot but less likely to hit your target.

Is it really realistic to be incapacitated by jumping onto your front? It doesn't seem right that that would happen, especially not if they follow the correct procedure of using your weapon as a break for the fall. The weapon of course then woud need to be reequipped into a suitable position, and BF2 just so happens to come with an animation that deals with that: the draw animation. It takes just over a second to do, and I'm no expert but I think it'd take a similar amount of time to ready yourself from such a fall.

I think preventing shooting while diving(getting into prone) and preventing firing for a short period after landing would be the best.(if possible) I was thinking something like when you stand up real quick, you can't fire right away. I wonder if you could use that code for going prone.

Read my post, I just described the perfect way to solve that. As for getting off the floor, well the draw animation could apply there too. I can imagine getting up from a prone position with a rifle would require you using one hand to assist you, thus requiring you to ready the weapon again, and the draw animation shows the player mysteriously pulling their weapon from below just as you would if you were to get up from prone. I think the main problem is people going down into prone though, so this isn't entirely necessary, but it'll work too. Like I said, "goin' prone!" shouldn't be classed as a cqb combat manuever, it should be used when you're shooting from afar and you want to decrease your profile and increase your accuracy, or if you want to take cover as low to the ground as you can. Real soldiers don't dodge bullets.

Sounds pretty good. I was just trying to think of other ideas that may work with the game engine. Because, who knows what is possible?
