So uhh.....not really sure where this threads going. Everyone plays what they want. And a hard core PR doesn't exclude any ANY other mod :-P

AIX is a single-player and co-op mod whose intent was to let people WTFPWN bots. Where did people get the expectation for tactical maneuvering and team orientated gameplay from? Although, I will admit that AIX has a strong emphasis on air power and infantry. Land and sea vehicles didn't seem to get much attention.

That is true. I generally just play it in single-player mod and I modded it to my liking.

God Bless PR & Teamwork.
It never goes like that for me on PR. Usually involves everybody shouting medic, and the medic is too busy fighting to heal anybody.

I've played a few BF2 mods, they all offer something unique. But PR is the best imo because I think the models, maps and animations etc are of the highest quality. (other mod's assets used in PR are retextured, and invariably I prefer the PR skin as well)

EoD is the only other BF2 mod I spend time playing because it portrays a different history period as well as different gameplay. I don't play FH2, not because its bad, but because I find the COD series immerses me in the WW2 experience more effectively.

But the 1 main factor making PR superior is actually the players. I want to come on to a game, make a VOIP squad and have people join who want to talk to me and work together, no other mod really gives me this.

I will emit I take my PR more seriously….and the Magic moments do happen when both sides are working well….FH2 was a disappointment as it was over designed to promote over the top fire fights….endless choke points.

Muttrah is simply stunning, so stunning I’m amazed when I look at real pictures, I could probably walk about the real place no problem without getting lost. AXI version of it would have ten Apaches hovering over the docks………but fun all the same.

In some respects, he is right. I had my friend try FH2, Sandbox, AIX, and PR. He played PR first. He joined middle of the round on Kashan, with all locked squads (we made one with 2 ppl) and no vehicles at main. He tried the kit request system, which he thought would be cool, but found he didn't have enough people in the squad or the max kits had been requested. We then proceeded to wait for transport, gave up, and began our walk through the desert, where we were eliminated by armor. We switched servers to Fool's Road. We then, had the same scenario, except this time, all the squads were full. We then walked through the forest for what seemed like an hour and placed a rally, (more ppl joined our squad) Then our rally got overrun, and we got sniped. We yelled out for the medic over chat (he was like 50 feet from us), but he promptly ignored us. He was really starting to hate the mod, so I looked for a good level that would change his mind. (like Muttrah, Basrah, or Ramiel)
We loaded up Al Basrah. Of course being the noob he was, he picked the civilian kit... We then encountered enemy forces, where he was promptly shot on sight, even though he was a civi. After seeing how long his spawn time was, he stopped playing PR and tried Sandbox and AIX. He didn't like Forgotten Hope 2, he said the maps suck.
That's all he plays now, and I keep trying to convince him to give PR another chance, but he never listens.

IMO, AIX is especially good if you have to use a computer with a bad internet connection (on a trip...) and you're not a fan of PRSP or your computer can't keep up with it, wheareas PRMP is definitly the best if you have a decent internet connection.
Again, this is just my opinion.

PS: No offense meant towards PRSP or the PRSP team (which is great BTW).

What I find most fun in PR is the established bonds with other players.
Most are long-time players themselves and if found compelled to do so could perform as a seriously, truely formidable squad.
However, the real fun from this comes from of a sort of satire of the mod and its players.

Enemy fire was intense, but we still somehow found time to throw a grappling hook onto the chopper and 'fastrope' down.
We needed that LAT real bad, but it was just too damn fun to all request pilot and storm the flag :)

Pr is so booring now with the new patch 0.75 was fine, but now with the new deviation, the new insurgency, and other things pt has become very booring for me.

Hehe, that was pretty epic :p

I played AIX, had a blast with the ATGM's from the planes and the sniperrifles, then I got bored of it.

Owning everyone in pr is fun, being owned is not, the challenge between the two is the gameplay.

If AIX is just fun by owning bots where is the challenge and where is the gameplay

This is why you can install any number of BF2 mods :) They all offer something different. A mod offering the same as another becomes tired :)

Try playing AIX 2.0 sometimes. The bots actually provide a bit of challenge mainly because they are balls to the wall and very aggressive. It's nothing like vanilla bots.

I have to say the bots are amazing, played a co-op game, they attack and even defend. Better fun was not going on the human side and go on the bots and go command….raised the bar as the bots did what I asked of them and I really enjoyed the swing of the game……..

Disappointed with the splash damage plus Bot’s and players take one hell of a beating to go down….if an apache machine gun round hits you I’d say you go down…and have to say death and instant spawn is back with AXI so one minute your in an empty room next there is a party and three Bad guys have appeared beside you and introduced themselves………..

The way you can swap in and out of mod’s so easy is a massive plus….and the reason I’m still playing a game a got in June 2005…..value for money is off the scale…….
