You do know that UAVs are used regularly in real life, right? (At least by the US military)SuperTimo wrote:meh, i dont think UAfails got very well in PR, and tbh i dont see the point even if they do.

Re: UAVs
I havent read through the previous pages, but what if we give a UAV option to the commander that allows him to actually "fly" the uav.
Example.
UAV could be used every 20-30 mins.
Commander calls in a UAV and his view is switched to a top down view such as in vBF2 where he could look straight down onto the map from up high (God View). However, what he would be able to do is fly around the map able to see enemy movement has it happens. People wouldn't show up as red dots like in vBF2, it would just be he has a top down view of a section of a map and can circle and relay grid locations to his SL's.
What this does is give the ability to look around the map, but you actually have to see the enemy, they aren't revealed to you like in vBF2 with the red blips on the map. Caches wouldn't be shown (unless they're blatantly outside) but the commander could infer where a cache might be based on increased insurgent numbers in an area which he would see.
I'm not sure if i'm getting my idea across but it might give a new ability to commander that allows them to be more involved with how the squads work, than just saying "go here, /accept artillery request".
