Quick Question

Post by Charlie! »

SORRY IF THIS IS IN WRONG SECTION

OK, I have a quick question regarding the installation of the game... If i install PR 0.8 in my comp. will it affect my normal BF2 game in any way whatsoever? Can i play both of them without affecting each other? Please Help

That shouldnt happen.

Normaly, PR does NOT change anything about BF2. You should be able to run both without any problem.

@gas: Maybe PR crashed and the shaders have not been reset correctly or so? If for some reason BF2 doesnt work and PR crashed before, you should start PR once again and close it correctly to make sure nothing goes wrong. But thats the only thing i could think of. Maybe someone else knows more.

Uhm... As long as you have the original disks you should be able to reinstall it IN CASE anything goes wrong. The profile data don't get lost that way, as long as you dont forget your user name and password (or your dad his).

Charlie - it will effect vbf2 in no way, there will be two separate shortcuts to use and PR wont change the vbf2 files in anyway you can play both when ever, you can even launch either via the other.

And dude, if there is really violence happening, you should consider informing authority. I'm not sure how serious that is, but if it is, I'd feel bad not saying anything about it. I meet people with problems in their lifes every day, one of them tried to commit suicide not long ago, and I might be over-sensible about such things - but violence because of a video game is nothing I think I should just ignore. Just saying...

Wow, he must be a little cranky. Can't imagine anyone getting that upset over a game for three days.

Actually, I noticed it changed ONE thing for me: whenever I ran out of rounds in a mag, instead of it automatically reloading, I have to manually press r to reload...in vanilla

Just go into options and check auto-reload.

@ marine, normal solution is to restart PR, as said above. But, if you are using the BAT scripts, you have to run th "revert all" one.At least, that's the general solution.
If that doesn't work, just try reinstalling BF2, then the latest patch (soon to be 1.5) and then PR
