New Silenced Sounds.

Post by Ainslie »

Dear Project Reality Dev-Team...

Now, this isn't technically a suggestion, more of, a 'throw-my-hat-in-the-ring' kinda thing. I was playing PR yesterday morning, and I was Spec Ops. And I noticed the silenced sounds are still the stock BF2 Vanilla ones, correct me if I'm wrong. So I got bored late last evening (Yes, it's 0330 in the mornin') And I played around with some weapon sounds and made a bunch of half-descent silenced sounds. Interested? :-o

PM/Email me. :D

You should have just PM'ed Rhino about this, if that's all you wanted to do.

If you wanted to initiate a discussion on the suppressed weapon sounds, then I'd like to add that they're a little too 'Hollywood' for my tastes. I'm glad you've got a solution.

A real silenced gun has still a lot of the shot-sound, but the good thing to have a silencer is that you wont hear it from a longer distance.

Good things come to those who wait, Rudd, but I'll see what I can muster onto the forums, not quite sure how to do it, except via Youtube. In which case, I'd put them onto my PR files, and play them through game. :)

If you search youtube for silencers you get a pretty good idea how it would sound.

Aye, I already have. They're a bit more high-pitched. But similar. Thanks though.

Edit: Mine are more high-pitched, sorry.

By "play around with weapon sounds" do you mean record actual silenced weapons or did you use some sort of audio editing program, like Rudd I'm curious...

Bit of both. But it won't be real weapon sounds. I'll make random sounds, from whatever, record it, and play around with it. I've already put my new silenced M9 sound in. And it sounds good.

I use Audacity. It's basic. But it works.

And I've already implemented the M9 Silenced sound. Sounds good. I'll try catching it on a video for Youtube.
