Not sure if this is possible but here goes...
An advanced autobalance mod which groups players on each side (red/blue) based on the prefix of each players name. for example, if this was a list of players:
01)Bigclan-Shooter
02)Bigclan-Fragger
03)Euroclan-Shmidt
04)iamanoob
05)Xunit-delta
06)Xunit-Hammer
07)xunit-seal1
08 )randomplayer
09)Bigclan-winger
10)Bigclan-passer
11)superteam-wolf
12)superteam-badger
13)gimpplayer
14)Euroclan-jones
15)xunit-dove
16)xunit-fishboy
The mod/utility would gather up the two biggest matching groups of players and distribute them first...
Team RED (max 8 )
01)Bigclan-Shooter
02)Bigclan-Fragger
09)Bigclan-winger
10)Bigclan-passer
Team Blue (max 8 )
05)Xunit-delta
06)Xunit-Hammer
07)xunit-seal1
15)xunit-dove
16)xunit-fishboy
Then the next biggest groups (never putting more than half on one side)
Team RED (max 8 )
01)Bigclan-Shooter
02)Bigclan-Fragger
09)Bigclan-winger
10)Bigclan-passer
11)superteam-wolf
12)superteam-badger
Team Blue (max 8 )
05)Xunit-delta
06)Xunit-Hammer
07)xunit-seal1
15)xunit-dove
16)xunit-fishboy
03)Euroclan-Shmidt
14)Euroclan-jones
Then place the non grouped players to fill out the balance:
Team RED (max 8 )
01)Bigclan-Shooter
02)Bigclan-Fragger
09)Bigclan-winger
10)Bigclan-passer
11)superteam-wolf
12)superteam-badger
04)iamanoob
13)gimpplayer
Team Blue (max 8 )
05)Xunit-delta
06)Xunit-Hammer
07)xunit-seal1
15)xunit-dove
16)xunit-fishboy
03)Euroclan-Shmidt
14)Euroclan-jones
08 )randomplayer
The aim is to group players of the same clan on the same side on a public server. Anybody think this is a good idea or is feasible based on how bf2 works?

IT is an impressive idea. Is there a chnace this could make teams unfair, with a extrmeley good clan facing a far less good one.
A question: would a whole clan ever be placed against just normal players (from no clan and there being only poeople from one single clan on the whole map)?
BEing a anoying as i am: HOW WOULD THIS ENHANCE PR GAMEPLAY, making it both more fun and realistic?
i am not saying it will or will not but could some one answer this, cos i can not?
- Would this feature attract more players? - i cant answer
- Would it acually cause frictions between players and turn normal games into clan matches, unfair for players who wnat a game where it does nto matter who the enemy is? - again i cant answer

I think it would make it a gangwar of clans (it would be a race to have the most people, not to build a good community), and people that only want to join the random squad or whatnot would be driven away
so if that is in fact what would happen, then you would be left with PR having the player base of the people that play nothing but the same old dated shooter with only a few clans for the entire active server list
not to mention, I doubt BF2 could even do something as organized as that, all it does is check if the teams are uneven and randomly pick some lucky sob to get switched and have to very quickly adapt to whatever strategy the team he got switched to is using

Just looking for feedback
not suggesting it would be mandatory but it would be nice to be able to have public servers where friends can play togther but still have autobalance to stop it being numerically unfair sides.
On non autobalance servers, you often get matches that are uneven as people move to play with thier friends - this idea just seems like a option for an admin. It may actually promote more servers - as private servers could be made public but the clans could still play together.
TBH, i have been on servers that have had several clan players on one paticular side versus "randoms" and the "randoms" have still won

I think it would have the positive effect of, to some extent, avoiding what I like to call clan-staking, where all the clan-players, generally presumed better organized than the non-clan players, would join one side, and all non-clan players ends up on the other. There is however the big "if", that sometimes a single clan completely dominate the server, for example because it is their own server. In that case, this system as I understand it, would put the dominating clan on one side, and everybody else on the other, while the best solution to avoiding unbalanced teams, would be to split the clan evenly among the teams.
I would personally look into a more sophisticated solution before trying to implement it.
