Diversity

I just simply think it would be nice to see a bit more divercity in the colour of the soldiers for the english and Americans, i can undestand the other factions, but the Brits are souly white lol, maybe it doesnt bother other people but it would just be a nice addition. ;)

And when will the jamaican/African forces be added? or is that pushin it :lol:

Character personalization would have been cool and would have added a little more variety to the game. I think DICE had been looking at that for BF2 and then axed it.

I think it would be neat to use a PLA light/Heavy (with intense reskin.) as an additional player model for the Russians, to represent the non-Caucasian soldiers of Russia.
The kit geometries I'm working on for the US Army (And hopefully other factions.) are for both realism and to add a small sense of individuality within a squad, rather than the damned 'Clone Army' effect we have now.

It is true though that soldiers who aren't white are just as important in the army.

Well this is what I saw people translate on the changelog:
SOLDIERS: Added more faces for the USMC and USA factions (chuc)
SOLDIERS: Added x more MEC soldier varients (chuc)
SOLDIERS: Tweaked a little the Russian uniforms (chuc)
SOLDIERS: Added x more Russian soldiers (chuc)
SOLDIERS: Added x more Chechen militia soldiers (chuc)
SOLDIERS: Added x more british soldiers (chuc)
SOLDIERS: Changed out a US face to look Afgan (ish) (chuc)

I always understood the lack of diversty because there were only 2 possible soldier models for each faction, Heavy and light, so having the British Army, for example, with Blacks, Gurkahs, South Asians etc would be impossible as only one of these could be chosen and they would be fully half of the British soldiers in game, which is unrealsitic as the vast majority of the British army is white.

Also, there is some scope for steriotyping, intentional or not, as was the case with the USMC in vBF2 where all the direct combat roles (assault, support, AT) spawned as black soldiers with body armour while the supporting roles (engineer, sniper, medic, SF) where white troops without.

It'll be interesting to see if the devs have come up with a way round this though.
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

There is more to worry about in PR than the race of our digital soldiers. Side step the entire issue by combining all the races into one person and use that.
