remove the red dot from...
the medic and the engineer...they pwn other factions soldiers in close range and i prefer that they are close or equal...and i think iron sights should be a little more common on army than they are right now

Asymmetrical balance! Learn to sneak up to them. Just yesterday, I walked around Ejod 16, owning those US army medics with my MP5 Crewman and Spec OP. Use tactics! Don't go on a head-on fight.Conman51=US= wrote:the medic and the engineer...they pwn other factions soldiers in close range and i prefer that they are close or equal...and i think iron sights should be a little more common on army than they are right now
I'm sure PR has enough military advisers to confirm this fact. No offense, but it doesn't matter what YOU think, it's what is fact.
Btw the aimpoint is standard issued US army.
In fact I think there should be MORE scopes, since every soldier just goes out and buys a ACOG or EOTECH anyways.

Those are M68 aimpoints.

I rarely ever seen vanilla M4s in use by grunts these days.

There is a reason the US Military buys m16/m4s with removable carry handles....they realize that optics are better than ironsights, and like to issue them.
If brute force doesn't work.......your not using enough of it.

^ This.
Not only US army, I've never seen a marine soldier without optics. Or a brit without SUSAT. I think we need to get rid of iron sights, they're just not the future.

The guy above mes right. The British pretty much never issue any one with ironsights.
Ironsights are used on the cadet training rifles not the war varients, heck, even the L22 carbine uses the scope.
Maybe replace the L85+Ironsights with the L22?

Yer, ive had the priviledge to fire the L82 in cadets, its pretty lite weight. But anyway, armies use a range of weapons and scoped, with the red dot being one of them, so don't say its unrealistic when it is veery realistic.

Not realistic to not use M68 for US Army
As far as I know, every soldier in the field for US Army is issued with an M68 or ACOG or it's down to personal preference or something, but the fact is they all have optics

DONT EVER say the m68 is overpowered. full auto G3A3(irons) gives me a 3-1 kill rate in CQC, whilst a 3rnd burst aimpoint only gives me 1-1 or maybe not even that.
point being, the M4 is a carbine and is only zeroed to 100 metres of range. it has burst(which i consider to be a slight drawback, and only useful in INS).

i dont understand conman51's problem
:
the weapons with zoom scopes like ACOG are needless in cqc, if something should be changed, then the zoom-weapons in PR should get a "2nd aimmode" for cqc.

This isn't changing, it is realsitic for all US Army troops other than tank crewmen to have ACOGs or M68s on thier carbines (as it currently is in game). They have an advantage in sighting, but thier weapons are less accurate, less powerful and dont have the full auto of other factions. Take advantage of those limitations and use proper tactics and the slight edge they have in easy to use sights will evaporate.
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

Engineers should have a scope so that they are actually useful, for in 0.85 the wrench doesn't repair vehicles, so the engineer is really not that useful except for clearing mines... (Bring C4 back
, kidding)
The medic needs a scope for improved survivability, though if they are smart they will still avoid the fight.
That's how I see it.

do you mean L85 or the L98? L98 is the cadet weapon and L85 is the Army weapon
@ Zoddom a good Medic won't be in the firing line - he'll be nice and safe in cover cracking off a couple of shots while planning how he's going to revive the dude.
+ The Wrench repairs light vehicles such as Jeeps and Trucks.
+ L22 (as Robert says) is only issued to tank crewmen.
