Re: Looking for some help
To have someone teach you to model is a pain in the arse over the interweb, as you really need to watch someone do it. Better to get a copy of max 9 (not 2009) and download these video tutorials. Thats how I learnt.
Model a 3D glock weapon download - Mod DB
Beretta 9000 Video Tutorial tutorial - Mod DB
They are best watched in small sections, then start modelling and refer back to them if you forget how to do something. Pretty much everything you need to know is in those two tutorial series, and when you know this stuff you will be able to get your head round the more advanced techniques easily.....Both tutorials model weapons, but the techniques are a good base for almost all low poly modelling.
I modelled a different pistol to theirs, and just used their methods to help, that way you dont end up with a another glock replica! Pick an easy simple weapon, and try and get to the stage where you can take some nice renders (ill give you some more tutorials on making pretty renders when you get to that stage)
It will take aaages at first and be very confusing and you will think, jesus how do people do this, but you get MUCH faster as you get better. The aim with modelling is to find the most efficient speedy way to make something, but to start with just making something is good!!
Good luck dude...
