ch53 stallion question
OK i know this has been suggested, but im not asking for it to be put in, i have a question about it. If you have heard of the mod AIX (allien intent extreme) then you know the vehicles in there. There is a ch53 stallion in that game, is there any way it can be coded into pr? or something like that?

Re: ch53 stallion question
Of course it can be coded to suit PR but for that PR would need the permission to use the complete model from AIX.

Re: ch53 stallion question
This begs the question...
Has anyone in authority asked for its use from the AIX folks? Or for other models from other mods not part of the BSS family?
I just wonder if the mod world for BF2 is pretty cutthroat or if it is a nice community that shares work to make all mods better.

Other mods outside of BSS dont really like to just give away their models but are sometimes willing to trade.

Icekiller was already creating one but since Rhino said no to it ever being in PR he let it slide.

Re: ch53 stallion question
I think he does not want it in because it is being phased out of service.

Re: ch53 stallion question
Most of the CH53's used as inland troop carriers are being phased out and replaced by the V22 Osprey. There will still be some left onboard the AAS's and some Carriers but it will be decreased in numbers by a lot. Also the fact of the matter that it really has no use in PR other than being a nice big target for RPG's or SAM's. Cant fit more than 8 people in it and besides the Chinook adds some new toys to the British since they need more.

Re: ch53 stallion question
I think the USMC is using both the CH53E and V-22 together and not phasing out the CH53, only the CH53D the smaller version and the CH46 Sea Knight because it has a much weaker lifting, cargo, and troop capacity than both the 53 and Osprey. The 53 is basically there to do things the Osprey can't do and I wikied it and it said they are going to replace the CH53 with another newer version of the CH53E.ReaperAce712 wrote:Most of the CH53's used as inland troop carriers are being phased out and replaced by the V22 Osprey. I just worked with a CH53E a month ago and the pilots were from a training squadron and its all I have seen along with the V-22 (Don't see the CH-46 much), so I don't think they are getting rid of them anytime soon if they are still training people to use it. They are a good alternative to the Osprey and cheaper and in more supply too.
Don't see why it shouldn't be ingame when the Brits are getting a Chinook which is basically the equivalent of the CH-53. I guess the USMC have the Huey ingame though to balance it out.

The CH53 isn't being retired. They plan on upgrading most of the current aircraft left to CH-53K's, They will be used in conjunction with the V-22's. The CH-46's on the other hand, will gradually be phased out.

Less CH53, more MH53; USAF Style.
Oh and while we're at it. HH-60G possibility?

Until a big enough map is made for USMC, there isn't really a need for a Sea Stallion or Super Stallion. That's why Rhino vetoed it.

Re: ch53 stallion question
Would be nice to see a map that involved them landing in Afghanistan to set up that first inland field base in southern Afghanistan, Camp Rhino (not making this up! see destiny!).
It was an operation in 2001, but would still be neat. I would like to see the CH-53 and the AAV-7 in for the Marines just to round them out, but I realize that this type of thing is done on an 'as needed' basis.
BTW, here is the link to the wiki on Camp Rhino.

Re: ch53 stallion question
The CH53 is used extensively by the IDF.
Still, it's a bit big for PR, isn't it?
