Heavy Grenadier?

Post by abbadon101 »

Just an idea that came to me. Don't know if it has already been suggested (did search but came up blank).

We have light and heavy AT, would there be any use for a Heavy Grenadier kit, using a multi shot grenade launcher like the Milkor MGL (USAR/USMC/British troops)http://mgdb.himitsukichi.com/pukiwiki/? ... MGL140.jpg
or the 6G30 (Chinese/MEC)
http://world.guns.ru/grenade/rg_6-1.JPG

The launcher could replace their rifle and they could have a pistol (like the sniper) for self defence. They would hae to have more ammo for the launcher than the Grenadier does, say 12/16 HE (depends on balance) and 8 smoke.

Let me know what you think

It's been suggested, not quite how you put it(ie Heavy Grenadier), but search for Milkor MGL and it comes up as already suggested :)

Hmm, mite be interesting tho not sure how often things like this are actually used in RL.

And im absolutely positive that it would lead to it being exploited as a "mortar", even more so than the currect grenadier kit.

Oh and welcome to the forums :D

Unfortunatley the search function requires at least 5 characters to work properly so military designations often don't work.

Thanks for visiting and we welcome your enthusiasm, but please do search all the possibilities (in this case, something vauge like "grenade launcher" etc) and read the "already suggested suggestions" sticky in this forum before you post a new suggestion.

Dude MGLs are not a common issue item. You don't see them in day to day combat operations. So its not realistic. Mk19s would be realistic but but not what your suggesting. And it is also a ressuggetion, please use search and A.S.S..

The Milkor is used by the US alot as a squad support weapon much like a light machinegun or AT launcher. Their role is basicly the same as the greadier kit but for more sustained fire, but they are used for riot control as well (tear gas and Less than Lethal rounds).

What's your source for this, abbadon101? Everyone else seems to disagree.

The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.
