Buggy for specialists.

Post by Cassius »

On Maps like Kashan Spec Ops who lasermark scout, or snipers need to cover some ground. Especially the sepc ops would have to relocate quite a lot driving pilots nuts. Taking a humvee would mean taking a humvee away from the squad.
How about introducing a vehicle like the nilla buggy (or the nilla buggy) which is only accessible with the Specops and maybe sniper kit ? On the larger maps he could use it to scout for enemy armor and relocate if he needs to lasermark a target, if he is part of a CAS squad for example.

I usually fly Helo's on Kashan, and have no trouble inserting Spec Ops troops. For some reasons... it's always the snipers that get me in trouble.

or.

i
s it the fact there isnt going to be anymore spec ops in .85.

OMG NOOOO

Spec Ops is being removed from PR, it doesn't have its own Dev Journal yet, but it's in the Logistics one somewhere.

Basically spec ops is going away and engineer is too as a spawn in kit. Engineer replaces spec ops spot and gets a better shotgun and C4. Since there are repair crates in the logistic trucks and anyone can drive those, the wrench only disarms mines. Unsure if the engineer gets the gtld.

No more Spec Ops and special operations on 0.85

But the buggy idea for fast reccon is not bad.

Just because they're removing the kit doesn't mean people won't be lazing targets.

But, i disagree with giving them a vehicle. There are plenty of transport vehicles in big maps like Kashan.

No, there are not plenty of transport vehicles on big maps. Well yeah but none reserved to recon element... Too much supply truck and on 0.85 it will be replaced by APC and Logistik truck...

The only lazer capable kit will probably be Officer kit (SL) on 0.85 and these are not supposed to go lonewolf reccon.

4 Jeeps
2 Transport Helicopters
6 Support Trucks

There's 4 jeeps if you want your own vehicle to sit behind you while you laser. 2 choppers that almost always have dedicated pilots who would just love to insert you on a mountain somewhere. Or 6 support trucks, which yes like you said, will be replaced by APCs in .85. But they also both do a good job at transporting people from A to B. I wouldn't want you 1 manning the APC, but by the way .85 looks to be headed, you'll probly find some dedicated driver/gunner teams who'll take you somewhere.

As for Officer kit not going lone-wolf recon. The other day i had a great round on Kashan as a lonewolf recon spotter SL for a CAS squad. I set markers, lased targets, etc, etc. Trying to convey your location and then the direction and distance you see a target to a squad leader who will look at his map and place a marker is very ineffective compared to clicking the mouse on it. And you can only set markers as a squad leader, and theres little point of carrying C4 out to a recon operation when your team might need it for other things.

Yes there are, but should a spec ops take a humvee away from the team ? If it is being removed its a mood point though. Its a pity because I felt it had its place here and there, like lasing for CAS when the SL is a pilot, or ambushing that pesky TOW humvee on qwai.

I liked the Idea of removing the C4 from the engie, who IRL does not use his charges for behind the lines operations, but to remove obstacles and such.

I bet the new engineer will be a spc op without the name to entice l33t bf2 kid0rs not to pick it. It just doesn't seem right that only the squad leader would have the GLTD.

Spec Ops removed? AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA GOD PLEASE NO!!!!!!!

And for the sake of having not having this post deleted for spamming, the sniper needs a spotter, so the officer kit should be able to be requested with two people in the squad, and the engineer kit should instead be a demolitions expert ;) Timed instead of remote explosives so no ambushing, ability to remove explosives and mines would also be a good idea. BTW, how do we know if our suggestions amke it into the game?

Joke: If you see the demolitions expert running, follow him!!

THE FOLLOWING IS JUST A SPECULATION

I think that the existing SPEC OPS will be transformed it a SPOTTER KIT for the snipers. It will have everything the existing SPEC OPS has, except explosives.

if the specops/spotter wont have SLAMS and C4, the engineer should have it, but to prevent abuse, make an limited kit called Demolition engineer (like engineer but with c4 and slams)
