grappleing hooks

Post by soulreaper5 »

while play insurgency and city maps as sniper i realized that getting on top of unreachable buildings is a hassle u always got to have a spec ops or engineer but yesterday as i was stranded on a roof for 1hr and 30min in the worst possible spot i could not see nothing so i came up with the idea for grappling hook for snipers so if they need to get around a wall undetected they can climb over it and or get into a position on a roof

Uhmmm... No.

Why? because snipers are supposed to operate with spotters, and Spec Ops currently play that role (although it's being removed/changed to demo engie) with a SOFLAM and grappling hook already.

Yes, you'll have to work with Special Forces/Engineer as a sniper.

Though I really wonder what will be done for the next version. Not mainly about the spotter issue - a SL can do that with the Officerkit. But about the hook.

I've wondered too, my own theory though is that:

Engineer --> Demolition Engineer

Spec Ops --> Spotter

Or something like that.

Anything that gets snipers to lonewolf less is good. This means having to have a teammate who can get you up onto roofs and back down. I dunno how it'll be in .85, but it should be some other class, not the sniper, who carries the grappling hook.
