nice one, okita.
and it's good that you don't update the mod that often (even though i think you've been really swift with since 0.75). not only do people need some time to settle in with the new changes, but you as developers also need the time to feel in the criticism, see what points are valid and match that to your goal with the mod. all this while leading a lot of real life projects. i appreciate your efforts.

Don't worry guys, I'll perm ban this racist. Couldn't stop at Bush could ya? Well, I'll show you what happens when you bash Mr Obama...[R-DEV]Masaq wrote:What, it's distasteful to mock the fact that politicians want high approval ratings now?! If it makes you guys feel better, I could have used, Gordon Brown, or Obama.
Come to think of it, what's so great about Obama? He only got 52.9% of the popular vote! We get about 66% of the PR vote! (Or is that in bad taste too?)
If so, someone do me a favour and call Jon Stewart to let him know he's out of a job?
Thanks hiber
In some hopes to maybe get on topic.. Where the OP? Just doesnt visit that often?
Its sad to write so much and then the OP is gone

Now you're just a sexist. Can't believe you'd accuse Hillary Clinton of using her boobs and "spreading" herself open to get a few votes.

Ahem, it's 1043 and I'm sober as a judge. Wish I wasn't, I've just taken a look at how much work I have to do today

The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.
Many thanks to [R-DEV]Adriaan for the sig!

Whoa, now they even ask us what they should do![R-DEV]Masaq wrote:tell us what the Mods need to do better!
Okay, that might have been a bit too much, sorry^^ No offence intended.
Well, back to topic, the thread kinda made me angry last time I read it because, even if XYBOT1 is more or less right with his posts, that was a rather harsh way to present it. But it's valid points.
Though most of the stuff is being adressed.
The knife>gun issue is going to be reduced with the deviation being changed for the next version - though I'd really like a change on the knifes' stats too. I've no problem with head-hits with the knife being lethal, but stabbing the body armour... I mean, if you sneak up to someone, you should usually have enough time to aim for the head with the Q comm. rose or something.
Something different that came to my mind thinking about CQB:
Wasnt the pistol vs. head once lethal? Had that been changed? It seems like you can survive a pistol headshot sometimes now, being only incapacitated. That seems rather odd to me. If thats supposed to simulate the helmet offering protection, I can understand it, but Pistols are used at a range at which you have a high chance of hitting below the helmet anyway.
If I'm not mistaken and this really has been changed, please change it back so headshots are lethal with any weapon.
Everything else from the original post is also being worked on and I've nothing to add.

wow, that is 100% what i think. Well stated.
These days PR is only walk walk... shoot (miss) and walk... lol
But of course there are also many positive things to Project Reality.

Re: XYBOT1 thoughts on PR
I started playing PR in .5, I can't remember which version did it (.7?, the one where you couldn't spawn off SL or APCs any more) but suddenly PR was very different. I haven't played it nearly as much after that and a bunch of the best players that were on the server stopped playing aswell.
What happened is a mystery, how could PR be less fun with all these great things being put into it? Perhapse in its quest for realisim some of the bad elements of reality have been added?

I agree with OP and I agree also with the need of testing things in public.
But if something went wrong, it needs to be fixed quicker, not after 6 (or more) month.

The dev's are only human, they can't work faster, or if, they'd give up their lifes
Especially not if you also want tests for every release.
Lots of small releases with only minor fixes will keep people from downloading the mod, too.

These posts make me sad.waldo_ii wrote:The changes to gameplay made all of the people who want fast-paced "gogogogogogogog1111!!!eleventyone!!!!111" games leave in frustration. Only the patient survive.
I love it!
I won´t go into anything here, but why does disliking a certain change make me that type of person as most seem to assume.
The reason I started playing PR in the first place was the realism, fun, and teamwork. For example if I mention I hate 0.8 deviation, I am perceived as a gogogo fastpaced uber headshot no teamwork guy, when actually, that has nothing to do with it. Of course it is changed now.
Each release it becomes more and more forced, and I don´t know what servers you play on, but these people have not left, they just make the gameplay bad for us who try to play normally. Of course, player numbers have increased, but to put it short, quality over quantity.

PR is better than BF2. End of story. You can't be 1337 in every game.XYBOT1 wrote:PR, look how many people have retired from this game in pursuit of other game play that is less frustrating and annoying. The servers keep dwindling down. Who's in charge over there? Are you nuts? You have lost so many people for the sake of "change" from the original version that you must be completely delusio... blablabla
