The Type 89 bayonet is basically an M9 blade on an M6 hilt.

Look from 20sec, is that a Type64 DMR setup? The recoil makes it look so, I don't think the M24 SWS has as much recoil as the Type64 judging from the same vid :p

If we ever find the name, we'd need to know what levels of magnification that scope gives, it'd be akward if the RiflemanOptic had a longer range than the officer. (lolwut?)

Here's the link to the full page, has lots of nice stuff...
Seems like very good ref for uniforms when we'll have to texture them!

Below are pictures of older camo guy holding a Type64+Bayonet, could be good for reference AREM117

Ouais désolé, je bidouille fortement quand je trouve une image comme ca, expérience de chercheur en science humaines à force haha XD

REFERENCE for Type89
http://www.special-warfare.net/data_base/204_military_rifles/assault_howa_type89.html

Agreed, scale it down a tad, overall model looks good but after observing the Type64 more and more, I think the front could use some detailing, just a bit more (textures/bumpmaps are great but I doubt they can do all the job for those type of details)
See refs below :

The scope on that Type 89 is most likely a reddot with little or no magnification.

****, and I thought I could ever learn to read japanese.
I was a fool!

AREM117, I commented above about the details on the front part of the Type64, needs bit o' detaling IMO, but the scope is waaay better! Looks a bit high tho.. May be just me :p

Well, technically there's just 1,945....but that doesn't count people's names.

I've got the reference photos of my uniform, but they're too large for Imageshack.

Very nice. Just one thing: it looks like the charging handle is on the right side of the bolt, it's actually on the top sticking up vertically.

Below are models from the Dutch and German factions, that's the equivalent of detail you should be looking for. You're not that far from it, but there's always itsybitsy stuff that can be improven hehe

CQB mod has different standards than PR, in PR models are nicer and better detailed than vBF2 ones. I looked at the CQG models and IMHO, they're not that great and a little boxy. (i.e. the type 89)
I think if AREM117 agrees, we should try to keep up to PR standards so that we make a good faction that looks good and plays good, rather than rush things and have somewhat unsatisfiying results later.

But again, I think advice from other community modelers/devs and the likes would be great here. Is this detailed and optimized enough? :? :
