New High-Speed Mirror!
As the owner of Stable Files, I'm proud to announce our newest offering. We've uploaded the core files from Project Reality and hope that this adds to the value and reliability of the mirror listing Project Reality current has. I'd appreciate it very much if users on this forum would advertise -- tell your friends who have not played Project Reality to try this new mirror and report back with feedback about their download experience. Users will get a huge boost in speed at the beginning of the download (cable users) and after this fast download speed will default to their max isp's speed limitation. For example if your max download speed it 750 kb / second your download will start at or above 1.0 megs per second and after about 10 to 20 seconds will drop down to 750 and remain there depending on the server load. Here's the link you need. DO NOT ABUSE this link. Pace yourself.
Battlefield 2 » Project Reality » Core
Battlefield 2 » Project Reality » Levels

This server is located in the U.S.A. That could explain why
. You still should have gotten a solid connection. As far as download speed goes, take into consideration your limits (cable or dsl speed).

Re: New High-Speed Mirror!
ROGER THAT to everyone. We are planning on uploading 0.85 to Stable Files when it becomes available. Right now, the best suggestion I have for anyone wanting to download the 0.85 release as it becomes available is to get yourself a free account. Free accounts by default are automatically sent upload emails alerting them of new files that have just been uploaded. Use the link below if you wish to create an account and thereby automatically receive updates. Lastly, once logged in, use the "Subscriptions" tab of your "My account" page to unsubscribe from upload updates.
Account Signup »
Hope to hear from more of you on the download speed and your experience on the site.

Out of interest - why?
You have very little advertising, you dont charge for "account upgrades", youre not linked to any other site.
No offence - I just dont get why a site like that would be set up, as you could be potentially paying for alot of bandwidth.
Im not suggesting anything is wrong with your site - Im just interested in what the idea/business model behind it is?

My new computer will be delivered in about minutes. The first thing after setting up the system will be installing PR. And it's gonna happen FAST! Thanks for the mirror!

In response to your questions and comments . . .
. I truly hope this site stays clean, this is the goal. By clean, I mean in order, without clutter, without EXCESSIVE ads and if people pay, they will get serious benefits. This is still a work on progress. I think the following quote proves my points
.
I'm delighted to see that you've noticed all these good features of the site. Here was the original intention in having very little advertising and all the other good features you mentioned. I wanted to start out by "shocking" people. Having them see that this site is serious about getting files to people fast, free and without beating around the bush (extra download pages, etc.) My plan was to draw the masses by this model, then slowly incorporate more features and paid accounts or whatever else needed to be done to improve the profitability of the site. But, honestly I never considered these things until you asked me. Well, not in detail anyway. I was thinking about posting donate links, but I'm so darn stubbern and picky about placement I just haven't done it yet. I wanted to prove something with this site, that you can help people find files fast in an orderly manner without sacrificing profitability. Obviously, I'm still working on this, but so far I've gained some good ground thanks to years of hard hard (not all related to this site) and some help from abovespacemanc wrote:Out of interest - why?

P.S. Just thought I should mention to Guerilla_Frank and anyone else who's looking SF also features Battlefield 2 » Patch 1.41 for download. This patch is required before you install PR.Guerilla_Frank wrote:My new computer will be delivered in about minutes. The first thing after setting up the system will be installing PR.
