'[R-DEV wrote:Rhino']I dont see why people who install the bf2 editor should get kicked?
That's FAR from even thought to be proven. We are looking into it. No doubt you have just caused loads of people to jump on the bandwagon and shout about this that and the other without knowing anything about how PB works, or PsB.

I just got kicked saying my shaders dont match. wtf. This needs to be taken off if it can't be resolved. I was in server and 4 people got kicked then I did as well. for Shaders_Client which i had modified with the night map shaders to do my map and changed back to original. strang I'll see if I can fix it.

I like anything that will try to stop hackers but a program that is gonna kick people randomly is not what I want.

Very frustrating since I played last night with no problem

Please do not assume that it's kicking people randomly. The kicks are due to files having been modified and every instance that has been investigated turned up exactly that: a modified file.

I understand this is frustrating because a few people got to modifying their bf2 installs and it hasn't been a problem until now (that it's actually being checked).

I'm fine with suspending the md5 checks for a day or two until the regulars can sort out their bf2 installs. Would that help?

I figured my problem out it was my fault since i changed that file for mapping reasons. I changed it back without a problem now. When i say randomly i mean for several different reasons. Ratman can't play he keeps getting booted for wake island mismatch.

So what do you suggest? Disable it for a few days to allow regulars to sort out their installs?

I believe you. But some program that you ran most likely did.

Which file was it complaining about for you?

I dont think we should disable it actually maybe we will just have to work on getting everyone fixed based on the individual problems.

Ghosty you should talk to Asianlady he has the correcting files for that I think.

Yeah, a reinstall will sort it out. But we should probably figure out what changed it, because otherwise you could run into problems at some point in the future again.

Alright, I've removed the md5 checking again at the moment to allow for some more investigation.

I have dug deep into this issue for the past couple of days now and I believe I have everything sorted out.

I just fixed RATMAN and he is playing right now to test and see if it worked. If it did, then I will post a full explaination of both how this file works, how to check if there are/will be problems, and more importantly the easy way to fix it.

Hopefully all goes well with Ratman and then this issue is taken care of. 8)

lol.
I missed this post while readin through...

LMAO...I got kicked because I replaced a single file in the menu_client.zip instead of replacing the whole zip file.

And that file was none other than and *cough* cursor animation!

For anyone who has tweaked their BF2, mainly renaming the BF2.exe in Program Files to disaccociate any Branding links to the game this could be your problem....

I recently formatted my pc so had the game from scratch worked fine, last night i was doing my usual overclockin and tweakin, like ya do... and i renamed the BF2.exe, started the game and it kicked me out, changed it back and all is good so its worth checkin to save time ;)
