Post by xcanadiansoldier »

I think there should be a button on possible the person beside the blackhawk that can press a button and the doors on the blackhawk closes.

it's possible (EOD mod) but kinda buggy. Also, can not edit EA models of the doors can not move. Not to mention that some seats in the blackhawk are sitting on the edge, thus cutting off their legs :p

Actually we can edit the way they sit and I'm pretty sure we can edit the moving door. All it is, is moving the door, not editing the model

That's what I was thinking... There was like million times I had to extract our boys from bullshit, and when they were in chopper, few guys got killed due to no protection from outside fire...

I like it, but would you be able to enter the BH when the doors are closed?? Else you need 2 guys to fly a BH, one to pilot and a door operator...

Only if the door is moveable on the model.

I know on the Merlin Doors were removed from UN Merlin to see if it fixed the Merlin bug. If they cant fix the Merlin bug then why put it on another helicopter?

Doesnt we have a new blackhawk after 0.8? Didnt they make a new blackhawk for the US army?

No, they only added some extra stuff to it. It's still vanilla. Unfortunately... But yeah, as said before, it'll probably give the same lagg as the Merlin, which would be sad. And it wouldn't add anything to gameplay.

Maybe protecting the troops sitting inside the helo from ground fire?

I think they should still be able to get in just like that big British helicopter. That helicopter that has the lag bug can still go in when it's closed

What we need is a set of new helicopter models with closed doors.

I believe POE2 has a MI-24 that has it's doors move.
Doors open the slower the heli becomes and shut as it speeds up???

Not sure if they created their own model or use the Xpak MI-24

Not buggy or laggy...

A thin door like that? Unless the heli's are armoured, I don't think it's gonna be a big help. Correct me if i'm wrong..

AFAIK, they've created thier own model... probably because Mi-24 from SF XPack is a fail

BTW. OPK also has it, and IMO it's better than POE's :D

The Merlin bug has a hotfix, just get into the gunner position on any land vehicle and you don't get the lag while flying. (Server and player framerate drops excluded, but the lag caused by the Merlin itself goes away)

I'm all for it, give the co-pilot a few other goodies, and then you have a requirement for a pilot AND co-pilot, just like reality.
(I dream that the co-pilot could fly the chopper if no one is in the Pilot's seat without waiting for a spool-up time assuming the chopper is already spooled up)
Players might be hardcoded, but that sure doesn't seem to stop anybody from trying.

The only winning move is not to play. Insurgency, that is.
