Re: [Faction] Bundeswehr progress update
For the German army guys here, (are there anny?)
I have a question about the MG-4, Im a Minimi gunner in the dutch army,
When I reload my weapon, I wil never give a punch, ore hit hard at the top of my weapon. cose my LCAN/Aimpoint, wil be outbalanced ore posibly fall of my rails.
But with th MG4 the aimpoint is integrated. Is this so made it cant be outbalanced when you hit hard on it. (like in the reload animation).

Personally mate, I talked to a few guys in the German Army and the MG4 is still rare for them. THey have used it once or twice and that's just for training. And whats the German army without the MG3NemeanHavoc wrote:For the German army guys here, (are there anny?)

The MG4 in Germany itself is rare, but our forces in Afghanistan use it.

The MG4 too, but it is rare and often used for training like chopstick said. During my service we got the G36, MP7 and MG3.jbgeezer wrote:What do they use in germany?

But will GERMAN outphase the MG3 ? This MG is like M2HB... it will stay in service as long as they produce ammo/pieces for it and even then.

Re: [Faction] Bundeswehr progress update
The MG3 is a GPMG, the MG4 is an LMG/SAW and so in only a partial replacement. At company level and mounted on viechles the MG3 is likley to serve for many years yet. Similar to how the Americans still uses M60s and M240s despite adopting the M249.
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

I have an erection.
Everyone wants to easily kill their opponent but nobody wants to be the one easily killed. That line of thinking escalates weaponry to the point where practically every soldier has a shoulder-mounted nuke launcher that when fired, automatically displays the text "pwnt".- [R-CON]Wolfe

Right and some technic improvments were made, inclduing the "NATO Spaßbremse"Maxfragg wrote:the MG3 is NOT exactly the same as the MG42, they have a different caliber
And of course the MG3 got the NATO ammunition 7,62. The MG42 had 7,92.
