Re: [Changelog] PR v0.855 fifth test build
Talking of changes, it reminds me about molotov cocktail.
In each release, I read manual thoroughly and carefully, but there is no explanation of WHAT it is used for, or HOW, or what it can damage and what it won't have effect on. I many times just suspect it as real one and use them, but it won't quite act as real. So can we get some explanation about what molotovs do in next release? For example will it stick to vehicles? Do any damage to car/armor? Will it take out any other assets? I accidentally found out molotov can bring down firebase in 0.7 but many did not know about this. So just to makesure this won't happen. Unless thats the intention.

I hope it is released January 20th. A bit close, but the timing would be epic.

Re: [Changelog] PR v0.855 fifth test build
why should that be a sign, it takes as many builds as it takes, no matter which number they have, maybe .85's buildnumber will be 0.8512 and we'll have 7 more builds

But if you look back it is an average of 7-9 test versions before the release.Maxfragg wrote:why should that be a sign, it takes as many builds as it takes, no matter which number they have, maybe .85's buildnumber will be 0.8512 and we'll have 7 more builds

What the hell is with the numbers anyway? I've always been curious as to why these numbers get allocated to software, seems kinda odd to me, is there some logic behind them other then just a count toward releasing the final version? I seem to remember back in my CS days, CS went from .62 or something to retail in 1 big jump.[R-DEV]fuzzhead wrote:This is much more than a patch, its definitely closer to a full build in terms of new content, maps, new features, etc. but we are retaining the v0.85 naming convention because its too late to change it now, and it gives us some breathing space before the big 1.0
Even when 1.0 gets released I couldn't imagine you guys will be satisfied in terms of not wanting to change/add major stuff anyway, these numbers mean nothing!!!

You know this was interesting and fun the first time it rolled around but now it's just getting old. No one has the effort needed to solve any of these anymore.

Re: [Changelog] PR v0.855 fifth test build
They don't put them up so they we could solve them.
If that was the purpose, they wouldn't have made it nearly impossible to decipher.
The people tended to guess wrong anyway when the DEVs gave us the first and last letters.
The purpose is to show that they are making progress, and have completed another build. They are NOT trying to give us specifics, so don't ***** and whine about how we can't decipher something we're not meant to decipher.
Just appreciate that we were given a status update from the kind and benevolent DEVs

lmao.
Okay, if you don't care about the content, just notice the thread and see they're making progress.
I'm not going to "translate" that one either now, but we're pretty close to the relase now I guess. 0.857 or so should be it.
