Chopper alternate view
ok, I know there is something similar ingame, and I searchedthe *** thread.
Last night I was messing around an an Al Bashra trainingserver with a merlin. At a point a squadmember hopped in and I wanted to insert him on a roof, there is just one problem, you can't see when your ramp or side doors are over the roof. I tried picking up some guys from a roof a while ago ant they could guide me in with voip, but what if they don't have voip or are in a another squad.
So would it be possible to make some viewpoints to look above the ramp and doors or something??

As the merlin doesn't have weapons could you not maybe have the ramp act like a weapon so to show up on the HUD, maybe just a 0/1 for up or down.?

That isnt exectly what I mean, what I mean is having a camera above the doors and ramp to see if you hover over a building.smee wrote:As the merlin doesn't have weapons could you not maybe have the ramp act like a weapon so to show up on the HUD, maybe just a 0/1 for up or down.?

Except this is PR right? So why would there be a camera on a blackhawk.Joery(NL)4 wrote:That isnt exectly what I mean, what I mean is having a camera above the doors and ramp to see if you hover over a building.
edit:also if you are hovering steadily then you can hold ctrl and look backwards then adjust.

I would like a Camera like the JU52 FH2 Cam, you can see the Airplane from inside and check if everything is OK

He said merlin, not blackhawk. I think it's a good idea, because when you hold ctrl you lose all control apart from collectivekevlarorc wrote:Except this is PR right? So why would there be a camera on a blackhawk.

I like this idea. Currently if you keep cycling "F" your view switches around, while still maintaing control over the vehicle. Why not just have one click of F cycle the camera so you're looking "over your shoulder" and another click puts you back to looking forward.

That could be a way. exept you probebly can't see if you are over the building.'[uBp wrote:Irish;905858']I like this idea. Well from what I get from you, you're saying if you're landing on a roof, you want to see if you are "over the building/if the ramp is down close enough to the building".
If you have the "over the shoulder" look, you'll see if the ramp is down, and then the only thing you'll have to do is learn how to fly.. backwards.. which would be fun.

Yea this would save a lot of accidents of people falling too high because the pilot cant see where he is dropping the troops. +1

Well that is one of the aspects.mp5punk wrote:Yea this would save a lot of accidents of people falling too high because the pilot cant see where he is dropping the troops. +1
@[uBp]Irish that is allso possible but are you really capable of seeing if the roof is directly undernieth the ramp, and normaly you fly towards the building, slow down and drop them of, not parking in reverse.
Although I see a plan thats being created.

I support this idea, though for choppers such as the BH and Huey could have the extra view instead for looking down the glass window by their feet, to see when their descending.

Re: Chopper alternate view
How about instead of a camera looking back, have one on the bottom of the tail rotor facing the helicopter. Almost like a 3rd person view, but under the tail. So you have a great view of your landing gear, and can still maintain control over your chopper while in this view. Of course it wouldn't get abused as a 3rd person camera because you can't see whats in front of your chopper.
Any way it can be done, i'm all for this suggestion. If we could turn our heads without losing control of the chopper, there wouldn't be a need for this unrealistic feature.
