PR "Light" or PR Maps for Vanillaplayers

Post by KEIOS »

This Idea came up in a forum, where players complained, that the Maps of PR would be awesome, but they don´t get along with the Gameplay of PR. Wouldn´t it be possible to make a "light" Version of PR, so all those impatient Vanillaplayers could get a less frustrating start into the World of PR? I remember my first steps in PR, when i just dropped on Jabal and got shot on long distance after walking for minutes. It was so frustrating, that i left PR until a friend told me some basics and afterwards i was addicted. I still think, that there are more players out there, who do not get past these first frustrating moments. Maybe a light version could ease that difficulties. Sure there are Trainingmaps, but there you don´t find Gameplay. So what if there would be settings, which would allow to have a look on everything, PR has to offer - without all the strict settings of the normal Version? And what if all those wonderfull maps could be played on Vanilla, just to catch the interest of the sceptics?

I think that is the point of the training servers

the problem is that its a spamfest

if there was an infantry version of the training maps it might work

but tbh its not really fair on the DEVs for them to have to make lots of versions of their vision

As i said. On Trainingservers, you don´t have normal Gameplay. And still a Mod-sceptic would have to download it all.

Sorry, light versions have been suggested before. Locking for re-suggestion.

AFAIK, the dev team has no interest in seeing the PR experience watered down simply not to scare vanilla players away.

And as Rudd mentioned, training servers are good for learning how to play PR.
