some have played it, and a few SA-7s hidden in a city . be very hard for chopper. and have you played a INS map with a apache ? how would you know it its overkill or not ? like i said, i play infantry and i love playing INS but on this map i would like a apache like they said.sakils2 wrote:Valid? Please, probably all of those whiners would choose US Army.
It happens in 0.8, it will happen in 0.85. With this Apache even less people would like to play as an insurgent.
People haven't played Karbala, yet. But they are already whining about the lack of fun factor.
Adding Apache wouldn't make Insurgents too happy. Getting shoot from 600 metres. AA's wouldn't do cr@p against Apache IF the AA is lased.
IF map is fun in your opinion because it has an attack heli, get PRSP.

90% of me playing ins map is as suprise! insurgent! why? because its fun, if you are intelligent enough to know how to play as that faction. so what's my problem with taking out the apache? it's very simple: i prefer not to play GB/US because playing as ins is something diffrent than a regular chaaarge! on maps with conventional armys. And there's nothing better than taking out a convoy with IED/RPG.sakils2 wrote:Perhaps, Insurgents want to have some fun, too? Stop bitching around for God's sake.

Apaches would in fact be very interesting. Think about that the gunner would have to verify each target and not overuse Hellfires in order to avoid killing civilians. The job would not be as easy as everyone might think and the map would be very interesting (I would love playing as insurgent, hiding from the black chopper of doom).

It was 0.5, it wasn't 0.85...I guess you didn´t play 0.5... Because the very people that said the cobras and such rocked to play on there, also said insurgents rocked to play aswell.
It was not directed to you. It was directed to masterceo.Actually I have played the map, and so has Gazz.

FFS, people stop calling us whiners because you are being whiners, whining about us. Everyone should be entitled to their say.
My main worry is that the maps are getting to similair, also I'm not sure if the amount of insurgency maps will make a lot of people happy. (I reserve judgement until I have played, because of changes).
But seriously, you need to give the heli whores and the CAS whores some maps to play with. I get the feeling that the whole DEV team are like those Americans that love ultra realism and insurgency (too much).
Can someone give us a explanation on WHY the apaches got removed?

This is the thing, so many people complaining about people "whining" or asking these things, but there never is an answer given. So it continues...LudacrisKill wrote: Can someone give us a explanation on WHY the apaches got removed?
To be honest the people who most do not want these things on any map, and who make the decisions, never fly in PR so have no idea of what the balance is like.

For everyone: Please stop assuming you already know how these maps are going to play before you have even played on them.
Please keep your feedback civil here, respect each others opinion and discuss the ideas at an adult level.

Re: [Map] Karbala
The very first time a saw this thread and 2 apaches announced I almost laughed my *** off because I knew exactly what's gonna happen in the end.
You can't possibly think of having attack helos on insurgency maps. It's not that much about it being too hard for insurgents to destroy it and get killed by it too often. It's more about the fact the this map doesn't exactly have many enterable buildings (according to screen shots) and an attack helo is extremely effective at destroying caces from the air as soon as the merker pops up on the minimap.
So if you want attack helos on insurgency maps those maps should have enough places to hide caches that the helo can't see from the air or it just won't happen.
Now if we're completely realistic about it there are way too many rubbish pilots that can't keep the helo up and running for more than 2 minutes (engine start time included) so in practice an apache couldn't do that much damage afterall. But there are some very skilled chopper whoers who could just pwn the insurgents so hard it wouldn't be fun anymore.
So IMO not having apache on such map is a good and very logic decision.

EDIT:
Why isnt the edit button not workin?
anyway, this map really looks cool and intense, i can picture squads trying to cross the roads and getting cut down by HMGs already
well done

2 Apaches is too much but lets give muttarah city for example. There is so much corners streets building and allays that you can't possbly hover in a cobra and not get shot down by a MANPAD or a stationary AA that you can't find.jayceon515 wrote:The very first time a saw this thread and 2 apaches announced I almost laughed my *** off because I knew exactly what's gonna happen in the end.

The Apache on this map wouldn't be a problem if: The Insurgents would be given 4 or MANPADs with a re spawn time of 10 minuets and around 2 or 3 AA gun's located near the mosques and vital points for insurgents. Now if the Apache can't hover that means it can't be changing the maps weather by raining hellfire's and 30mm rounds down onto caches
So the CAS would be purely called in by squads that were in trouble. It would be just a quick fly through with the cannon and hydras and maybe hellfires if needed.

Re: [Map] Karbala
sakils, i don't have to play the map to be already disappointed by the lack of apaches. For me it was one of the most important features for 0.85:attack helo on ins map. and it's not like im complaining about everything each release, apart from kit limiting this is the second thing that really disappoints me. I just would like a response from someone from dev/tester team why it got removed.

dude the map looks like it doesnt need an apache!
i bet you any money if they kept the apache in and u playd as ins and got your *** pwned you would come back complaining that the apache is an overkill!
i wouldnt know, i havent played PR for 2 years but im sure there was a reason, either coding or just simply game play issues, you cant just be disappointed by one small thing...
