Seems contradictory to up the number of Automatic Riflemans then only make them requestable from supply boxes, apcs, and supply drops unless there is going to be one of those waiting for you when you respawn.

Just saying this because fireteams are built around the Automatic Rifleman.
There will be six Automatic Rifleman kits available per team. That, plus it's a lot more useful than it was in 0.8 :)

'[R-DEV wrote:CodeRedFox;911504']What?....Did you read where you can now request kits?

PR_Manual.pdf.
I read all of it and the changelog. It said only requestable from "APCs, Supply Crates, Ammo Dumps" now. Did I read something wrong and they are still requestable from RPs?

Or did you misunderstand me? I said I don't understand why the Automatic Rifleman is not requestable from Rallies anymore.

No, your misunderstanding me. I like the fact that there are more Automatic Rifleman kits available for the team. The problem I have is, according to the manuel and changelog, why are they onyl available at APCs, Ammo Dumps, and Supply Drops? What if you are behind enemy lines and your man needs a SAW? Is he supposed to hike all the way back to request one since he can't get it from the RP?

Yea, if your on the front lines. If you are trying to flank or go around an enemy position and your automatic rifleman dies, how are you supposed to get one then? Without the SAW/Automatic Rifleman, regular infantry squads/fireteams can't operate properly because they cannot lay suppressive fire.

0.85 looks amazing, great job Devs.

Just one thing, ive read that your increasing the sound and realism of the APC's 30mm. Is that inside the APC or outside?

if im gunning an APC the last thing i want is to miss locations of enemies/bombcars etc if i cant hear over the weapon

Yep just like every other requestable. I know its gonna take a while getting use to it but you will.

Or run a proper squad and have your medic revive you.

The whole idea is to advance your troops taking gournd through APC, firebase and/or supply lines.

What about those times when there is some idiot in an apc who gets shot from the get go or a chopper who crashes or gets shot down?

I see your reasoning and am more worried about the team messing up the opportunity for one of my squadmembers to take the automatic rifleman than him actually messing up.

You cant code out NOOB.

A majority of 0.8 games I've play recently show that people are getting it. In 0.85 will add the next phase of these changes. If we have to hold the players hand a little so be it. One day you'll all be grown up :-D

Hence why I think they should be the responsibility of the squad, not the team. I agree with HAT, sniper, AA, engineer, and possibly grenadier and that they should be the responsibility of the team, but basic kits that the squads need to survive on like Automatic Rifleman and especially LAT with all the APCs in this version are going to severly cripply infantry squads if they cannot get a hold of them.

This one really has nothing to do with "geting it." It has more to do with realism and the basic needs of infantry fireteams/squads in combat and their ability to survive.

Well lets all talk about it after you played the release. Analyzing it even with out playing it is hard for you and commenting FROM playing it is unfair to argue about it. :-D

My opinion is this is the best version of PR yet. Game play is SO much better.

If you choose to stay behind enemy lines I think its more realistic to stick with the loadout you carry in, stay covert, provide intel or/and damage important enemy assets and finally get resupplied.

Many of the not-so-wanted updates like kit request or unarmed pilots isnt the most realistic approach, but it will hopefully lean towards a more realistic way to do operations and higher level of teamwork.

I know, just saying it depends heavily on the human presence, and from playing with other people in pubs, anyone can spot things that might go wrong if it depends on other players.

Hello

I also don't understand the removing of the ghille suits. Okay, they are´nt visible on longer distances... that's a problem. But why make this problem also on short ranges? It doesn't harm anybody. It only has positive and realistic aspects. Its harder to see you ...
(btw. the whole "hiding" part of being a sniper isn't, or couldn't be, really considered in the game... everyone knows the pictures of the totally invisible snipers in bushes/grass etc. Its one of the main aspects in the role and training. Its essential for success and surviving.),
...its more realistic and its makes the kit more attractive... the look of the sniperkit is so important for the atmosphere in the game!

I don't understand why the ghille could not remain until the "something-else-that-will-make-it-work-right"-thing is ready?

But for the rest: I LOVE IT!!! THIS GAME IS EPIC!!! GREAT!!!

Thanks for all the hard work :p
