Re: 0.85 demands higher performance?
Why dont you try overlclocking your video cards! Search in google for the way to do if for a nivida or a ati card, some will go more than others but do it little by little to see the max you can push it.. clean out your computer case before you try.. you can usually go up 100 mhz on GPU and 100 mhz on Video Ram on a nvidia card with no problems... Also checkdisk your computer and close everything and your antivirus before playing pR, thats everything by the clock on the bottom right too! running AV while playing games kills it.... or if you want to spend like $80 bucks go to TigerDirect.com - Computers, Computer Parts, Computer Components & Electronics and buy the NVIDIA 9600 GSO video card with 768mb ram.. CHeck out their memory prices tooo! no idont work there but Im in IT for a living and they have the best deals on everything.. way better than best buy or something...
I run max resolution and medium settings on a Pentium D 2.8ghz overclocked to 3.1 running 2 gigs of OCZ ram and a NVidia 8600 with a little overclock (100mhz + on each) im running vista 64bit with no problems playing PR on medium with good res and most new games with a good resolution..

Just set everything on low and it didn't seem to have much of an effect on performance, still can't maintain 60FPS in Falluja. 3.8GHz C2D/HD 4870 512Mb.

Yeah, Fallujah is the worst map on an FPS scale. Funny too because it's so small.

Re: 0.85 demands higher performance?
Every other game I have runs just fine, so I doubt it. And I said I can't MAINTAIN 60FPS, meaning I get 40-100FPS on Fallujah. I need to get 60FPS to game with VSYNC on, without VSYNC I get screen tearing and it's just not a smooth experience. Also, with VSYNC on and a constant 60FPS I can walk down a street and spot the enemy much more easier than without it. Plus it's less straining on my eyes.DenniZ-NL wrote:lol if you cant get a 60fps out of a 3.8ghz c2d and hd 4870 something is definetly wrong with your pc (or your config skills)
or do you have only 512mb ram?

My thoughts exactly. Ive got a 2.2ghz c2d (OC at 3.2) and a hd 4850 - I run fallujah no problems.DenniZ-NL wrote:lol if you cant get a 60fps out of a 3.8ghz c2d and hd 4870 something is definetly wrong with your pc (or your config skills)

Im wondering if it is the new grass statics. Its possible to set AA to x24 in external programs like Ati catalyst. Doing x24 AA on all those blades of grass maybe causing the problem? The grass statics are only on fallujah and qwai afaik, and due to 0.85 only just coming out, maybe people haven't noticed the problem on qwai yet because theyre playing all the new maps?

Re: 0.85 demands higher performance?
Been trying some of the other new maps and they run really well, no problem maintaining 60FPS and they look great too with everything high, 4xAA. Fallujah must have some problems.

Nah. I dont think so.NyteMyre wrote:Is it just me, or is 0.85 far more demanding for your computer then 0.8?
Fallujah Wests seems to be very very laggy (more then my first few minutes on Ramiel..which usually disappears). And when it runs quite smoothly, the suppression effect makes me lag.

Fallujah Wests = confirmed lag.
I want to know how the BETA-testers and the 2 weeks of stresstesting of this map evaluated.
What was the judgement of this map. Based on FPS-standards. On a 64 server full slots.

Re: 0.85 demands higher performance?
Guys, try lowering textures from hight to medium. I got everything but textures set on "high". Play Fallujah on 1600x1200 without any lag..
One good thing about playing games in 1600x1200 res is that you don't need any anti aliasing (AA) and can put more power on antistropic filtering (AF) instead.
Again, if you get lower fps on the urban maps, even from a decent GFX-card.. try lowering textures to medium, really helps!

Re: 0.85 demands higher performance?
Biggest PR lol that's ever happened to me
Set all my video settings on low and tried Fallujah = epic fail. It still lagged like hell so I couldn't even turn a corner.
Updated to the latest gfx drivers on my ancient 7600GT and now I can play Fallujah everything maxed out @ 1680x1050
7600GT slightly OC'd, C2D E6600 (stock), 2GB RAM (stock). I guess miracles still happen
