New to PR

Post by Airphel »

I've been playing BF2 for quite some time and honestly I've gotten sick of it. I had been searching for a new game to play, and then today when I log on to BF2 it has a screen telling me about PR 0.85. This is EXACTLY what I've been looking for for years. Just now it seems overwhelming, this mod is so in depth I don't even know where to start.

Any tips?

Welcome mate..

Stay with your squad and use Voip, a lot. That's the quickest way to learn.

Enjoy the ride.

EDIT: training servers are ok.. if you are alone and want to try equipment. Unfortunately they will teach you nothing of how to play PR in the right way.. as most people on training servers are complete tards who should be playing BF2v.

And don't forget the manual ;)

Just ask people, they'll help a new player. If they don't, get in a squad that does. But read the manual before, maybe use the training servers or just fool around on a local server a bit (in a constructive way).

Ye agree, especially with flying. Practice on a local before going into the fight...

Hi, and Welcome to the PR forums.

Tips.

you must be at a supply crate /or back of a Apc to request any kit that is not crewmand or pilot

you need a crewman kit to drive /or gun a APC or Tank or AAA.

you need a Pilot kit to fly a helicopter or jet just walk up to it and request the pilot kit.

kits in 0.85 after death and if the enemy dose not pick it up will be re request able in 5 full real minutes

that's my tips for ya good luck!

Welcome to PR!

Have a quick read of the manual, gather what info you can, then load up and have a blast on a training server to familiarise yourself with the weapons if you want(might be a good idea to do this on local as internet training servers are...not very nice places to be :p ).

When you're up for it hop on a decent server like tactical gamer, or tactics&teamwork. Get in a good squad with VOIP, tell people you're new, and hopefully they'll help you learn the ropes! If they don't, they're ********, so find another squad :p

Best of Luck!

READ THE MANUAL, and enjoy the game. Don't steal peoples vehicles, Read the server rules if the server tells you too, many servers have different rules IE name your squad after and asset and only your squad gets it.

Also did I mention READ THE MANUAL?

hey! we're neighbors. i'm from Independence.

add me to your xfire: ghettostank i'll help if i see you.

it really helps when you play in a squad with someone who knows the game. a lot of people will be happy to walk you through the rules of the game, but there are unfortunately those who will scream "read the manual!"

its a good idea to look it over i must admit, but once you do- the instruction you receive from your squad members will make more sense. be ready for some serious culture shock after playing vanilla battlefield. you'll never look back though.

If your in a clan, try to get them involved in PR to, make a squad. its easier than making new buddies everytime you join a server...
