BF 1943 Pacific and BF Bad Company 2 are both offical and both will be available for PC, only bad thing is that the BF1943 website only talks about 24 players

When has EA missed a chance to make money on a franchise to the point of death?

BF3 will come out only because they will want more money from people.

Look at it.

BF1942 (The original) > BF:V (The offbeat one) > BF2 (The sequel) > BF2142 (The offbeat one) > BF3. Yes they are going to make bad console games but EA will not give up milking a franchise. Its EA. So BF3 will come out and we will all ***** and complain and moan as they screw it up. But each and everyone of you will go out and buy it because there is nothing else. There is no new FPS that fit the BF2 niche.

That's how it goes. I have complained over and over about BF2 and EA's idiotic marketing. The glitches and problems but it doesn't change that the base game itself is the best of its kind.

it seems as though they keep moving further from realism {yes i know vanilla is a joke when it comes to realism but its the closest we got from EA} and PCs with every release. which doesnt bode well for a possible bf3.

What's this 'moving away from realism'? They aren't PRM, they're EA and no video game was ever "realistic", but they used to have better game play than they do now.

Come to think, maybe the whole point of modern video games is to look as cool as they can, so 1000s of gamers will have to buy truck loads of hardware every year from other companies in order to play them and to keep them from throwing the game out after a week of owning it they add in an addictive stats system so the nerds jerk their keyboard for an entire year over some stupid digital pictures of medals and ranks, while the educational part of games, like enhancing logical thinking etc. goes out the window.

Yes, but EA owns DICE.

Aside from that as the publisher they're the ones who tell the actual developers how the game is supposed to look.

I don't think this game will even be close to as great as bf1942 and bf2 was but I will still buy it and try it out.

Bad Company was garbage in my mind. Had a field of view of like 45 degrees it seemed. I felt like I had someone cupping their hands on both sides of my eyes the entire level.

The characters were kinda interesting [I give them that, I liked them after just a demo level] but the gameplay was lame. OMG artillery run in and blow it up, OMG a tank shoot it, OMG explosions.

The lame grain effect was really annoying too... played it on PS3 if that changes anything...
