[Proposal] United Arab League
The faction opposing MEC and the Proposed Iran Army would be the United Arab League. Based of of the League of Arab States this would be a middle eastern faction more friendly toward western nations. Equipment would be based off of nations in the league. EDIT: Due to the current setup in PR the UAL will be OPFOR.

Re: [Proposal] United Arab League
That's a shame. Another ME superpower OPFOR would be an interesting addition to the game, I think. Just beware that either way, given the vitriol in the MEC Replacement thread, you might find a few people who'll be against this in a big way.
EDIT: Though, come to think of it, I suppose it would be pretty cool to see one ME faction go up against another, just to add to the dynamic. Though, thinking again, the proposed Iranian/Persian power could just as easily be like Russia is, that is, against just about everybody. So I don't know, I suppose I'm ambivalent as to whose "side" this UAL would be on. But don't get me wrong, I still think it's an awesome idea.

Re: [Proposal] United Arab League
we already have US, why give Bradley to another faction again?
we already have INS, why give AK's to another faction again? and etc.
if seriously, to mix a bit new factions, so UAL wont look like US, in addition this will be close to real life because UAE have 600 of BMP-3 and i support LeClerk an M60 idea
one more thing, imo there is a lack of OPFOR factions, because if all current factions will be finished, there will be nearly 10 BLUFOR factions, why make another one?

Re: [Proposal] United Arab League
After going through the different maps it would be better for the UAL to be OPFOR almost all the Middle East maps are in UAL locations. Also there should be less countries in the UAL.
United Arab League
Egypt
Saudi Arabia
Yemen
Oman
United Arab Emirates
Iraq
Jordan
Syria
Kuwait
EDIT: The vehicles will defiantly need a reskin to look different from the US vehicles.

Re: [Proposal] United Arab League
Im no logistics expert but having both the Steyr Aug and the M16 seems a bit weird to me, just to use one as a scoped rifle and one not... would make more sense for an army to be a bit more standardized, no?
Why worry about two rifles with two completely different sets of parts when you could just toss an ACOG on the M16 and save money/parts, etc
What as the logic behind this, as Im a bit curious
This would be a cool idea though, would add a cool new almost "civil war" like level to PR... but a Continental civil war or something I guess... which really isnt a civil war... and is just like any other war... maybe you know what I mean... Heh... forget I said that

M16 is used by Egypt, UAE, Iraq.
AUG is used by Saudi Arabia, Oman, Pakistan.
Even though the G3 and AK are in use by many Arab armies i thought it would change things up.

Re: [Proposal] United Arab League
I wasnt questioning whether armies there had one or the other, I just mean that if they were to all join together and form one army, that they would probably use one set rifle[Like the MEC].
Unless you're wanting them to function like some sort of joint operations, like if we were to include the US and British on one map, who would still use their own countries rifles.
In which case, you could go the way youre going but it still wouldnt be accurate as you would be limiting countries within the League to a certain role[Scoped rifleman for example would all be "from" the above countries] Not a terribly big deal, buts its one of the reasons we didnt do something like that before... :\ Because then theres the question of combined armor from various countries, whos ultimately commanding the troops if theyre all using their own equipment, etc
idk, its something to think about at least. Personally I just think its weird that theres already m16 and m4 in this army, then all of a sudden theres a random Stery Aug for the scoped rifleman class. They use NATO rounds I guess but... meh...

Re: [Proposal] United Arab League
Or...they could be like NATO
when the British do an operation they use SA80s etc
when the Americans do an operation they use mblahblahs.
So when the UAL do an operation, and Saudi troops do an operation its Augs, etcetc

Re: [Proposal] United Arab League
Well with the Armor all are from Saudi Arabia the Aircraft are from UAE. I wanted to use the Syrian or Egyptian armies for the Infantry weapons but it seemed like people thought that it would be better to differentiate this faction from the other ME factions. I figured that the AUG would be good to add more flavor to this faction and since only 1 army uses it then only the limited kits will use the AUG. The only kit right now that the AUG should be in is the Officer kit(not saying that the only country with officers is Saudi Arabia).

Re: [Proposal] United Arab League
Nice idea !
But I think the AMX 56(Leclerc) will be better. It has an improved cannonn a high speed and it would be more fair against MBT of the enemies...
And in wiki we can see that Saudi Arabia has 388 Leclercs...

Re: [Proposal] United Arab League
It's actually the United Arab Emirates who has the Leclercs but I agree. AMX-56 Leclerc for the UAL would definitively add a nice mix to the weapons arsenal of this faction.
The French faction team has one done already or they're planning to work on one if I'm not mistaken right?

Re: [Proposal] United Arab League
Certain maps could have Leclercs and some have M1s? It'd be a fair trade considering the number of Challenger and Chieftains they also use. But there are much more M1s and Patton being localy produced than other european tanks ;
450+1700+73+240+83 = 2546 M60 Patton tanks (A1, A3) currently in the UAL.
388+1005+218 = 1606 M1 Abrams currently in the UAL. (Not counting the 900 that will be purshased by the new Iraqi Army making it up to 2506.)
388 Leclercs currently in use only by the UAE.
I think you should reconsider the MBT, there are much more Pattons and Abrams than Leclercs, Challengers and Cheiftains.
As for the Steyr Aug (used by the Royal Army of Oman) well.. doesn't it use NATO rounds? If so, it'd add a lot of variety and attrativeness to the faction.
Steyr Aug could be for the Specialist maybe? Or the engineer? Just brainstorming there..
