PRMM 0.30 Status Update May 10th

Post by eggman »

Hey Gents,

Just uploading the final test build for PRMM 0.3. This is just a patch to go from PRMM 0.305 to PRMM 0.305b. The 0.305 just indicates full builds, the "b" indicates just a patch. We've done 5 full and 2 patch builds in this release cycle, so we hope we got all the major bugs and have a lot of cool features to enjoy :)

This 0.305b build will undergo brief testing. There were a few changes in this build that are a bit bigger than expected. As a result our test crew has a bit o' work cut out for them!

That said .. I have personally done a lot of testing on this build and hopefully everything will go smoothly. We have fixed a lot of bugs in the last 10 days, but there are a few we can't get sorted out for this release, and a few I am sure we have not discovered. We'll post a list of known issues once the release is finalised, likely tomorrow evening.

If there are no showstoppers, the plan is to release PRMM 0.3 within the next 2 days.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Just a quick and minor update... the very first little bits of testing on 0305b so far looks good, no issues like "when I press the 'C' key the mod shatters my LCD panel and embeds shards of glass in my face".

We did lose a tester to a bug like that in an earlier build.

Again .. sh*t can happen and ya never know what will come up that can take ages to resolve .. but there has been LOTS of testing and bug fixing on this over the past 2 weeks.... so I am (perhaps stupidly) optomistic that releasing in the next 48 hours is realistic.

Don't expect a perfect release and then gripe about "how the hell could the testers have missd this" kinda stuff... they are volunteers doing this for fun, as is the dev team.

Beyond that, the perfect number of bugs in a software release is never zero. Unless it's missile defense systems or stuff that makes hospital equipment work ;)

Thanks again for your patience and support, we'll do our best to keep y'all updated and get a great release out to you asap.

erm....eggman I think you'd better look at the tester boards.

MAJOR SHOWSTOPPER. There's no way we will be able to release for another 14 days minimum

You know, that would be a fine replacement for "Fullforce, press Alt & F4".

We need players! We have over 25 servers running PR and only 20.3 players are playing regularly. Guys we have to bring this number up.... We need a plan. My monthly server bill is like 75 usd and its getting old when know one joins. I would like to see all the servers full.

If it's out before I leave on Friday i'll get it sorted. Otherwise i'll get one of my guys to do it. Failing that, it will be Sunday AM when i'm back. So not too long to wait... might take a few days to get it back to no armour though.
