Panzerfire wrote:It's actually the United Arab Emirates who has the Leclercs but I agree. AMX-56 Leclerc for the UAL would definitively add a nice mix to the weapons arsenal of this faction. :thumbsup:
The French faction team has one done already or they're planning to work on one if I'm not mistaken right?
Sorry for the mistake, I don't know why I said Saudi Arabia, we are not in trade with them...
And yes French Forces Team is working on Leclerc but I don't belong to the DeV Team so I can't tell you anymore about the progress...the only thing I have seen is the model we have show you few weeks ago.
@Tannhauser : Tu n'as pas tort sur le fait que la Ligue Arabe a plus de chars américains que de Leclerc mais :
I will continue in English...
This comment raises two questions :
-M1 will be present in many armies developed for the mod (US, Australia, and others...) Do you think it's really interesting to put it in an other faction ?
-Ok they have more Patton but this MBT is very old and has not the standards of actual tanks. Will it be balanced against T90 and others ?
But it's not up to me to decide... :smile:

No your also right, Pattons are outdated tanks altho they've been upgraded (M60A3) just enough to be efficient against more modern armor. As we all know, DEVs for now have set the T-72 to be mirroring the M1A2 in terms of armor and firepower, however if i'm not mistaken, in future releases they are going to reflect their RL capabilities.
To a certain extent, PR thrives for assymetrical gameplay so if RL there are more Pattons fielded, I'm sure we can find a way to reflect that in PR for the UAL. It's pretty much like it was suggested for the North Korean faction, that they have weaker vehicles but they have much more than adversaries. Something similar could be done for the Patton IMO, but for now the most realistic solution is to give UAL M1 Abrams for many reasons ;

- They're manufactured in certain of UAL countries (Egypt?)
- There are far more M1s, if a UAL ever had to fight as a whole, they'd with no doubt use more M1s than Leclercs, Challies and Chieftains. I'm not saying that UAL should ONLY have Abrams, i'm suggesting that on Combined-ops maps like Kashan, the UAL spawns more Abrams than other MBTs. A faction doesn't have to be restricted to only ONE standard MBT, UAL is a group of diverse armies fused together so it's normal for them to have diversified assets. :-)

I think you should use Omani camo patterns, if not old MEC camo.
