[Proposal] Colombian National Army (Ejército Nacional de Colombia)

Little surprised that this hasn't been proposed nor worked on. Little evident that we are stuck on the "War On Terror" mentality and focusing on middle-east.
Although here is big potentials, just think about the South American environment provides a premise which is naturally beautiful.

Marginal governments, drug cartels and the Colombian Army present at war with leftist rebels of the FARChttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FARC, ELN and EPL, as well as other minor groups.

Spanish voices wouldn't be so hard to create.

So lets take PR to South America.

YOu could make it insurgency where you have to blow up cocaine stashes. :)

First get a development plan up, do you research on what kind of assets you need, compare that list with what PR and its community factions and BSS partners have to offer what left you need to make, get people on your team who can model/uvmap/texture/export/code/animate and map.

Make sure everything you do is x 2 since you need a opfor faction too that doesnt exist inside PR yet.

Gotta say I'd like to see this too. I mean I hear mostly of AKs in that area (tough I've only read about it from Tom Clancy: Clear and Present Danger) so it should be pretty easy. Most of the weapons in that area I beleive are already made

This was proposed already. The idea never really took off.

But the idea of having a colombian faction versus FARC in a similar layout as NATO versus Taleban/Insurgent is interesting. Just instead of weapons caches you could go put like Cocaine labs or other drug producing facilites that must be destroyed. After that's the Colombian Army's main job nowadays XD

Well they have a large variety of small arms.
It seems they're the «good guys» and if anyone is willing to support this faction, it should include FARCs or unnamed Guerrillas. I'm not too fond of insurgency mode with drug stashes, i'd rather go with a Chechen styled AASv3 and the Taliban Insurgency mode.

As for the Taliban insurgency game mode (Guerrillas being more like 0.8 militia = RPs and FBs), I'd suggest a large 2km jungle map with many rivers and marshes or a 4km map with even more rivers. Mountainous/Valley maps would also be welcome.

The faction doesn't really require new statics unless you want to fight into the bigger cities, the villages can go with retextured versions of current statics. The jungle isn't very had to make, a good start would be a map like OGT but more dense and with tighter valleys.

I'm surprised Colombia has no MBT, but at the same time it's smart because who'd use an MBT in jungles and rivers? Too big and clunky for this sort of environment (unless fighting in cities).
As for the Sniper rifle and the DMR, seeing how they buy a lot from Israel (IMI, IAI), it would seem reasonable that they use the Galil Sniper and something similar for their DMR. As for M16s and M4, like stated above they're exclusively used against Guerrilla warfare. Their conventional forces should get Galil and Tavors while a few Requestable kits would use an M16 or an M4.
I found nothing about wich gernades they use. It's kind of troubling seeing how grenades are important in modern warfare... I imagine them better with US grenades than F1 anyway, they use mostly local, north american and israeli equipment.

Good idea. Cocaine and weapons stashes shouldn't be hard to create.

Looks to me however, that we have some small arms to make.

The Guerilla of course will be armed with AKs, but it seems to me that many of the paramilitary forces in South America are using the M16.

The guerilla are very good equipt. The even use the 50. barret. So you should make a different between the drugskartel and the farc. make the farc less equipt than drugskartel. I even heard that the drugskartels use helicopters tot fly between laps maybe a idee. also istead of finding crates or weapons the objective could be to find plantages and destroy them.

That'd be a cool scenario to reproduce. Military forces blowing up labs, cocaine stashes, smuggling planes. Just give the army faction some extra C-4 and it'll be all fun! :mrgreen:
