Instant Spawn Bug / No Bleed Bug

This post concerns two separate bugs that were encountered on the morning of Jan 24 on the Tactical Gamer server.

The first bug resulted in most or all of the players on the server being able to instantly respawn at the last selected spawn location. The bug first made itself evident on Quinling and then re-emerged on the next map, Bi Ming. It is unknown what event, if any, triggered the bug.

The second bug took place on the aforementioned Quinling map and manifested itself as a lack of bleed for the British Team. The PLA had all flags capped, British players were incapable of spawning, yet with 109 tickets left, there was no bleed and no victory message.

It is unknown whether the two bugs discussed here are related or separate.

so are you saying the round didnt end on qinling?
i mean cause (i bet you know this) you cant spawn when all of your flags are capped.

The admins changed the map, ending the round. The server was later restarted and I haven't seen either bugs return as of yet, which doesn't mean that they will not.

The second bug you experienced on Quinling is a Vanilla bug i belive. I've experienced it once during my years with BF2. (And I had the first place that round, lost a gold medal :( )

I was wondering why I could spawn instantly..... was like "yay, devs!" Then I went to another server and came back down to Reality (.85)

Hello Rhino,

I am updateing my last reply to you on the license removal from 101st Airborne Division Clan. Our official stance on this decision is "Thank you".

In 101st Airborne Division Clan's admin's oppinion, your latest stable release 0.850, is a good update the first version we have applied for and we request that your development department grant us license for further use in a public server in order for 101st Airborne Division Clan to help your development team to understand how these kind of glitches happen or if they have been fixed in the latest version.


We understand why (in our case) the server license has not being distributed to us at this time because of reports that we have made changes to configuration and coding in order to change aspects of the code as far as gravity and spawn times and dispute these claims at the highest level.

It is our deepest hope that your team understands that in no way did the admin of the 101st Airborne Division Clan change the settings the way it was described in your last communication to us. Therefore there are a few things that PR development can look at (if they so wish) in order to help us fix any such "bugs" and to help us recover our good standing in the PR community.


Some unexplained bugs were reported and found in our previous version 0.809 and then attributed to 101st Airborne Division Clan's admin who reported the bugs in the Project Realty forums at the time of his viewing the bug.

We recieved no order to shut down the server or any sort of fix for the issue. 101st Airborne Division Clan worked a trouble ticket near the time of the reported server-side glitches and bugs, and determined that the best way to fix the issue was to re-install the Linux release in a totally seperate user and file location.
All the steps were taken to re-install the Linux release and the issue has not been fixed by a new install.

Our server is a 64 bit CentOS 5 latest release and we have made attempts as players to NOT launch the server until your team got back to us or requested that we make any changes to fix the issue. 101st Air's admin left the server up after the last communication with Rhino which simply stated:


"will get back to you on this soon, please check your PM's often, you should get a email every time you receive a new PM."


We have been waiting for a reply to the first warning about our server since the beginning of the month and offered to shut down the server but no such request was given by anyone from your team.

Your development team knows what is best and we offer our deepest commitment and support for your team's server development process and the decisions they make to keep the integrety of the PR strick realism approach. The distribution PR gives is free of charge and for that we are thankfull.

We offere our "buged" server as a test environment for testing you may want to conduct.
Testing on the "1 Second Spawn Bug", "Prone Position Only Bug", and the "not able to throw granades bug" which has not completely gone away yet after a complete re-install under a new UNIX account with limited rights.

We sincearly hope to continue to work with PR development in an attempt to help resolve any further issues and to help PR dev determine the cause of said bugs. We have re-applied for the latest version and we hope that PR dev will give us more technical support on how to fix such issues in the future as we did not recieve any on our reports of the previous version's bugs.

Dear R-DEV's,

He's frustated and I don't agree with his attitude, but i can't blame him. After he reported the bugs, he locked the server at peaktimes and contacted Rhino (we found out he left too late...). After no replies I suggested to re-apply for a server licence, again no replies. We ask you guys for help, and showed that we are more then willing to co-operate with the R-DEV team. I thought you guys could help, NOT ONE DEV came to see the server himself, looks like I'm wrong...

Then again you guys turned us down, we offer you admin acces and a server to test for bugs, and even to check it out yourself. WE DIDN'T MODERATE THE SERVER OR MAP, we only know how to change maps for Christ's Sake!. We just want to play PR 0.85 on our clanserver. I don't agree with his temper, and I asked him to stop bugging forums. But I simply ask you guys, talk this out 1 on 1 pls. You guys feel insulted I can understand, but how do you think we feel after months of waiting.

Most of our members are online tonight, and tomorrow night on our TS server, I hereby invite a R-DEV to come and talk this over, enough is enough :-(

I WOULD APPRECIATE IT IF THE PUB FORUMS DON'T BUG THIS THREAD, THIS IS SERIOUS, THANK YOU!

101st Air wishes to thank fuzzhead for meeting with us on this issue and wish to ask that our reputation be cleared of any wrong doing on our part.

The issues that were reported that were on our server were first reported by us in these forums and were not attended to by anyone.

When our license was revoked it was cited that the reason was because we had broken the service agreement for the server admins license by changing the gravity and the time to spawn which was untrue. We now see that the issue is not our server alone and wish to express our thanks for the help we recieved the other day. We did in no way change any settings to cause these bugs and our license has been re-newed.

Thank you fuzzhead for helping to get this issue cleared up. The install of PR server .850 will soon be installed on a freash user account on a Linux CentOS 5 distro and we will fully test the server locked before trying to launch it as per our agreement with fuzzhead.

As anyone can imagine the frustration by me was due to the lack of help I recieved from some devs (no names) and the revoking of our license for doing something we did not do.

We offered to lock our server but there was a private message to me (the admin) that the dev department would get back to us on taking down the server so we didn't do anything accept lock the server during peek times.

These are the facts in this case and 101st Airborne Division Clan still wishes to have our name cleared of any wrong doing (accept our posting some upset posts which were posted to get some attention after 2 months of no information on our issues).

We were called liars and that is what we would like cleared up even though the entire community can see that we did not cause the issues reported by us and others on other servers.

Again thank you fuzzhead for your time and help and we wish this entire issue to be water under the brige. We simply wish to have an appology from the PR dev guys for calling us liars about the issues that were reported.
