Fullauto at ranges up to 50m if you aim well and counter the recoil a bit u put 2 rounds on target instantly.

I just use full automatic, why have single shot? when you can just tap the mouse to get single shots.

Many times as an ins i have found my self right next to a enemy squad, and i could have taken it out but

for some reason my gun was in single shot and i just got 2 shots out before the squad totally fubard me.

And why when you spawn have it in single shot devs? because sometimes when you spawn there are

enemys close to you but you cannot kill them because you always spawn in single shot

It really depends on the weapon and sights.. M4/M16 with ironsights and aimpoint 3 burst, with a scope single or hip fired burst. G3 single only, because 20 can run out fast. PLA or Brit with ironsights full-auto with scope single or hip fired full-auto.
But the best one is...... AKS-74U with full-auto.

Well i usually stay in single shot, I never go full auto unless i know im going to engage the enemy in close combat at that point in time.

depends on a weapon really.
I wouldn't recommend G3 (MEC) for CQB for example.You can still use it,but it's
not as precise on full auto as it is on single.
For CQB my favorite weapons are:

AKS

PpSH

Ak-47

full auto

Full Auto. I don't have a problem controlling automatic fire on the assault rifles. I don't even want to pretend to know what people are talking about when they mention recoil. The only gun I have problem with is the G3 Rifle, which IMO the recoil to me feels like shooting the PKM from the hip.

Ak-47 -- I like it. Recoil can be a little hard to control. But it's the second most powerful assault rifle and will cause someone to bleed without a hitch. The M16 and Ak-74 won't do that against body armor.
I find the Ak-47 ironsight to be more clear and accurate than the 74, and second to the British and Chinese rifles.
I find that this rifle shines very well on the militia maps and Korengal. Not so much on the Iraqi insurgency mode, where the U.S. 100% of the time is either operating in a Humvee, on top of a building or is playing sniper wars against the insurgents.
I run around with the Ak-47 on single shot. But switch to full automatic when in closer combat

Chinese/British/Russia -- Holy smokes this thing is accurate, when doing full auto on an ironsight. Absolutely no recoil when compared to the Ak-47. You can push in more bullets onto a single target (though this empties the clip much faster...) than you can with a 47.
I keep them on full automatic 24/7, especially on the iron sight versions. For the Optics, single shot

M-16 -- Burst? Nay. Only time I do a burst is when I'm doing extremely close quarters 0-5 meters. I find that single shot is much quicker, has less recoil and/or otherwise superior to burst fire.
I keep it on single shot

G-3 - Oh my god this thing is a piece of ****. It's a great rifle if the only thing you do is optic wars. In fact that's what it's good for, it's the most powerful assault rifle in the game and does 56/58 damage, you WILL take out someone in two shots almost every single time. Everyone was bitching about the insurgents getting the G3 as a main kit and than they changed into a squadleaders (LOL).
It almost feels like using a lee enfield in close quarter combat. You have to calculate your shots before you fire them. None of this "aim, spray and pray" in the general direction of the enemy, that you can do with the other assault rifles.
Keep it on single shot, or full automatic if you can resist the urge of spamming it like a machine gun. TO be honest I absolutely dread the G3. If I'm ready to kill, than yeah it's great. But for CBC and if the one being surprised, than it simply blows. I usually refrain from doing so, go play optic wars or simply request a crewmen kit for it's submachine gun... especially on Muttrah

I've found that with the SA-80 and ironsights I can hit a man sized target with high accuracy up to around 70m. After that I'm on single shot for suppression or sniping him. I find it harder to control recoil on full auto while scoped in. But its still reasonable accuracy at range.

Frankly I'm always afraid of coming around a corner or getting ambushed close and having to worry about hitting '3' to go full auto so I just always walk around with Auto engaged. One person said it best. "If you need single shot then you will always have time to change to single. If you need auto then you don't want to have to fumble for buttons'.

I always have my gunon full auto because there's usually thoses irratating ambushers who come up close and you have to respond quickly, anyways, when I want semi auto I just *click* exstead of changing the gun to semi auto.

depends on how close and the rifle
if im sporting a scop,e i go full auto and just empty a clip at the enemy, hopefully causing a suppression effect and making them scram

if im not using a scope, and the distance is more than maybe 5 or 10 meters, i aim with 3 shot or use bursts in full auto mode

I myself use:
Full automatic - When within 25M of a target, when in building, turning corners and close combat, etc.
Single Shot - For supression, long ranger shots, accurate shots, big maps, etc.

once you enter a building or enter a close range area then turn up the rate of fire, because the more lead you fire into someone the better.
If a bomb lands 20 feet from your position, then I'm coming around for another shot.
P.S. Sorry that I missed the first time.
