At the moment people get told off for shooting civilians, this is good. Could we get a similar message telling off your team-members for carelessly running across your traps?
At present, it doesn't matter what lengths you go to warning people of traps. They can be clearly marked, well away from a spawn, you can tell your squad, your commander (if you are lucky enough to have one), and even type a message to your entire team telling them to check their maps; you can go to ALL this effort, and STILL some idiot will run over it and blame YOU for THEIR mistake.
Ahem, MY fault? Nuhuh. Not only is it YOUR fault, but you've also ruined my trap... It's the equivalent of jumping up and down in front of me when I'm trying to fire off an RPG, wasting my shot on a hummer with a full squad, and then blaming ME for the TKs!!!
And what do you get told? Not "Oh, sorry, my bad" or "Gah, didn't check my map enough"... No, you get "Don't use traps, you'll only kill your own team."
I'M NOT KILLING MY TEAM, THEY'RE KILLING THEMSELVES!
So, given that it's easy to spot genuine TKs, and there's methods in place to deal with these griefers who booby trap spawns or box everyone into a room from which there's no escape; can we PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE have a simple message on friendly trap death reminding players that it is THEIR responsibility to keep an eye out for friendly traps, and it is THEIR fault if they fail to do so?
Something along the lines of: "You triggered a friendly trap. Please check your map for dangerous locations to avoid, watch your step, and ask the commander to remove / replace misleading trap icons!"
Or, alternatively, lowering the VICTIM'S team-work score too, reflecting the fact that them destroying your defensive traps is HURTING your team's ability to defend caches.

Re: Trap TK message
If it's an organized squad these accidents rarely occur, but generally there needs to be some form of warning for friendlies.

Re: Trap TK message
Many players use traps moronically. They place them scattered around caches and spawn points in such numbers that I have spawned on the trap before and been blown up. This sounds more like a rant of a trap spammer who doesn't know what he's doing and is getting angry when people hit his poorly placed traps :Roll:Ace42 wrote:At the moment people get told off for shooting civilians, this is good. No, traps are really tk heavy since insurgents don't check where they are running (their lives are disposable) and the fact that traps are often placed so that they are hidden from the enemy and thus: your own team.
Also it's kinda funny how people believed the traps would be too obvious..
