I used torrents since the day they came out, mostly for tv shows and stuff that i didnt get from other sources. Torrents are weak unless you have seeders with minimum 1mbit up, but you usually want 5mbit up. I am using teh Bf2mod site right now at ~375KB\s. After 10minutes the torrent is fluctuating at 1-6KB\s.

I love the mod and the work you put in. But im afraid gloryhounds probably isnt the best Host/tracker-thing. I also imagine their game servers are lagging hard right now. Maybe if you throw it on mininova or thepiratebay you would get some proper speeds.

EDIT: I know the piracy conotations of those sites is better, but if you want your hard work to reach everyone at an optimum rate, they are the way to go.

It may be benificial to see who here has usenet access as well, because i would be glad to upload it there, with permission of course, i reach speeds of 7mbit there, which would mean a 10minute or less download time, most likely 6 minutes. and even with the free usenet access my previous isp granted me i reached 250-350KB/s no problem.

In the future when i may have a Server with more then monthly transfer i would gladly host future realeases for a limited time (say 5 days or so, depending on the bw). I got a great deal on dreamhosting from a slickdeals.net promo code.

The deal was $120/year pay the full year in advance. It is the 'sweet' dreams package on
http://www.dreamhost.com/shared/comparison.html . Notice the 1TB a month banddwith which goes up by 8gigs every week and the 20gig storage. Maybe its something to look into in the future. Or under donations. Im sure a couple of us with good jobs could get together and shell some dough for the next release. IF thats not doable then ill just host on the ftp for a bit.

EDIT 2: I negated to mention that servers like this are wicked fast.

EDIT 3: Thread that updates the promo code. http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread ... id=0#post0

I will also mention i am in no way affiliated to slickdeals or dreamhosting, and i dont even have hosting from them. I have a friend who does, and having used the server dont mind it. Its not very accomodating as far as control and security is concerned but it works good for simple things like basic file hosting.

The tracker itself is no problem whatsoever. Traffic to it is minimal, it's just an indexing service. Using a site like piratebay etc, is not likely an affiliation that is beneficial to the community. In the end, the tracker has no influence on the speed of seeders, the users actually need to be interested in it. Also note that those sites actually point to a whole variety of trackers.

As it stands right now, there are 93 seeders and 222 completed downloads. That means that over half the people closed down their torrent after the download finished :) There are still about 300 people downloading at this point.

GloryHoundz is running several seeds totalling up to about 6MBit.

Please double check your firewall settings if you're getting poor download speeds. Make sure your router has UPnP enabled and that your BitTorrent client supports automatically mapping its required ports in UPnP. The alternative, of course, is to manually map the ports in your router which you may already have done.

Torrent coming down at 80-100kbps, 65.7% right now. I'll let it seed overnight with my full upload speed, 1.75mbit

I am greatly disappointed at the download sites. Most are overseas, transfering a super slow speed. Even the torrent downloading program that I'm going to try out is going to take like 15 minutes to download before I can even install it and try downloading the client files with the torrent program. I can't believe the client files weren't posted on File Front!

You will need to look further. Go to the USMC's Spec Ops kit and you'll find the P226. Go to the USMC Sniper in particular maps (like Mashtuur City) and check his new rifle out (SPR). There're also binocs, and new timed bombs (using the c4 model atm, will be replaced in a future release).

Many other implementations will not be noticed at first glance. New gamemodes (xtraction/single objective) many new maps, modified maps, and maps with performance optimizations as well.

Threat and Worth scoring system, etc...

Don't expect to "see everything" the first time you load the mod... ;)

PS: Go and read the Readme.txt file. It tells you everything you need to know.

Lucky *******! It took me 4.5 hours before my download was complete (yesterday) but it was definatly worth the wait. Yesterday I have been playing for deep in the night already. I like all the changes and the new maps.

And ofcourse I want to thank all the makers of this mod for making such a great mod. :15_cheers
