Re: Pilot Kit change
I used it 4 times 1 was for a paradrop squad, one was on Kashan, and the others were on barracuda and on barracuda it saved my life once. On Kashan it didn't do much, I was raped by a Tunguska.

And what would a knife help with gclark03?
This is a great reason why not to have anything for the pilot :

If the pilot was returned to what is was game events like this wouldn't have happened.

They removed it for a reason, it seems to have limited tarding as joker said and I hope it stays like it is.

Pilots should at least get fists to fight with.

Re: Pilot Kit change
Yes they would, capturing pilots has always happened, you just make sure they shoot all their bullets and force them to keep their bandage out. I've said it once, I'll say it again. If you're getting rolled over by pilots, then it's your own damn fault. Removing the pistol is poor for gameplay, as the pilot is helpless and stands a better chance of dieing before getting extracted as he cannot defend himself, and poor for realism.'[R-DEV wrote:CodeRedFox;940133']And what would a knife help with gclark03?

Re: To resolve the Pilot kit "problem"
The suggestion is actually very good If I'm reading it right
basically if u are in a passenger seat of a chopper you want it to say "pilot kit cannot sit here"?
nice idea
problem is that the seats reserved for rescued pilots would be accidentally taken by other passengers or people would use it for paradrops.
In any case I think that pistol should be returned anyway for realism, but ur suggestion would help limit the tardery.

While beating up armed men with machine guns and body armour worked OK in Mirror's Edge, I doubt it'd fit Project Reality very wellPilots should at least get fists to fight with.

If you have at least a knife you can do a lot of damage, destroy a firebase, then knife some random lonewoolf, get his kit and support your infantry

Re: To resolve the Pilot kit "problem"
We're talking about a pilot here. To get to ground, he has to paradrop, which is slow and highly visible, then he's got a bright white helmet and minimal camouflage. If you're getting taken out by that, you deserve it.Tomato_With_A_Rifle wrote:If you have at least a knife you can do a lot of damage, destroy a firebase, then knife some random lonewoolf, get his kit and support your infantry

and they always leave before you can ban them. that's the most annoying part actullyEngineer wrote:It feels like pilots hate losing?
I mean, it's not uncommon to see 'bestpilot007' crashing into tree and disconnecting quickly right after. Come on, it doesn't need to be about winning all the time, get used to lose.
You are shot down, so what? Either try to sneak back to your forces or accept the fate that the enemies will ridicule you. Or, you can always disconnect, like you always do and blame about lag later.

Pilots should stay unarmed and you should disable the suicide option for them. I would like to see it develop to what we have seen in the "Tales from the front" -section. Pilot as a hostage - massive rescue operations - epic firefights

Re: To resolve the Pilot kit "problem"
the pistol and knife were removed because some peeps liked to parachute behind enemy lines and pwn all the BFs. pretty much the same thing for the pistol. and since choppers allready dnt have enough space in them its foolish to make the co-pilot seat only for pilots

Also admins could enfore that the pilot kit is not requested to empty the pistol clip. The armament should reflect real life though, do they even get spare clips ?
