Radio Kit/ Highly detailed map

Post by Joethe33 »

I'm not well versed in the moderating limitations of the battlefield 2 game; that being said, is it possible to create a system where a specialized Kit/ Squad leader/___ could have access to a Radio that he could use to directly communicate with a Pilot/ Squad of Pilots? I believe that having direct VOIP communication with a pilot would increase the utility of a squad.

In my experience playing for example, I've seen a grid system being used instead. Now calling out for example, "__ KB__" works well, to an extent. But it wouldn't be as precise. What about rougher terrain, etc? You get the idea.

Something else that could possibly work in conjunction, or perhaps alone would be to have a highly detailed grid on the map in-game. Basically smaller squares within the square. 8-)

Again, the Radio Idea is just a thought. For all I know it's impossible to VOIP over different squads. I would think not.

This could potentially clear SAY chatter a bit more on a more "serious business" server. Presumably all of them. Some being more leaniant than others, in terms of rules. That's aside the point. The point I'm making here is, I believe either of the two things I suggested (or both), would add further to the realistic immersion players find themselves in when they play Project Reality.

VOIP is hardcoded I'm afraid, sorry. Locking for re-suggestion.

Also, most people seem to think that the grid/keypad system is precise enough: F3 K8 for example.

VOIP and direct Comms to other squads is not possible within the limits of the BF2 engine, however I would strongly suggest seeing if the server has a Teamspeak, or jumping on the Project Reality Official Mumble Server, to configure it, check these posts out:

EDIT: double ninjad.
