Public vs. Private advice

Post by Radiohead »

Im new to Project reality, but I really enjoy what I've played so far and am eager to take it seriously, and dislike it when teamwork is not top of the agenda when I join a squad.

I read on the forums that private servers are much more focused generally, and while i have had some great matches on public servers i feel like i am sometimes missing out on a constant stream of great matches, rather than the occasional.

The question I'm asking really, is the only way to be allowed access to a private server to join a clan, and if so, how would i go about doing this. I realise I am new to PR but i read up on it for about a week before I started playing to make sure I grasped the rules and such.

If a clan isnt possible, the ip's of some highly rated public servers would be much appreciated.

Thankyou for any help, and I'm proud to be a part fo the PR community. :-)

Tactical Gamer and TCombat are probably amongst the most consistently organised servers - they can be too strict for some people, also theyre usually full.

I often have great rounds on the HOG and texasteamplayers servers too.

Best ones in Europe I find are:

Tactics and Teamwork
RIP
MRS ABC
Eagle

Any server can have good/bad periods though.

I think you would have to join a clan to use private servers. They are mainly used for training and preorganised inter clan skrims. You could also possibly look at joining the PRT tournament.

Thankyou, really helpful. I think i was playing tactics and teamwork earlier today, had a great round.
Are the others public too? Sorry for the extra question here, but how would I look into joining a clan?

i recommend you play for a while at first, you'll understand is it "yours" game or not and you will also find some more preferable servers and players for you

All of those servers are public. I dont think any clans have enough members to have an actual private server, with just their clan joining casually. As I said - theyre mainly used for training, and preorganised skrims.

I think pretty much every clan is recruiting all the time. Quite a few post in here looking for members :

If youre new to PR, I would suggest you play around a bit on some pub servers, and see which clan members you come across, and which you fit in with the most.

I often have a good time with the RIP guys - they have fun as well as take it serious.

Yeh, I was going to play more before clearly making a "commitment" but im very much enjoying it at the moment.

I think ill keep playing on the servers suggested (thankyou for them btw) and as you say, see what happens.

All credit to the devs for this mod though, wish it got more coverage.
