[Question] Spawning

Post by [system] »

I was playing (for the first time) in an real game, not the training. My squad leader said "Alpha, wait for the next respawn." I had no idea what he was talking about so I went ahead and spawned, I was wondering, it there any kind of tip on what to do first when spawning. :p

Welcome to the forums!

I think your squadleader was about to make new rallypoint/forward outpost at his location.

Teukka's probably on the dot, though I've never heard that phrase before. If you're ever confused just ask your SL. Welcome to the forums.

or he might mean that you should wait at your current respawn for the next respawnee. If another squad leader is down and you wait for each other youve got a better fighting chance while moving back to your squad.

There's also a thing called "holding spawn" which means that you do not spawn until the Squad leader tells you to.

When he says "Alpha", he may be talking about the squad's name, or he may be talking about a fire team, which usually consists of 2-3 people within a squad. It's usually used in insurgency, or when your scanning buildings for enemies. 3 groups of 2 or 2 groups of 3 (in a full, 6 person squad) stick together, and search in different areas. Pretty much, they split up the group to cover more ground.

Instead, I'm going to assume that he's talking about the squad name.. which makes more sense in this situation. By saying "wait for the next respawn", he means you should wait at wherever you spawned to regroup with the other people in the squad.

Well, if you spawned on a rally point..

If you died near it, make sure there aren't any enemies nearby. Other then that, just do what the squad leader tells you to do. If there aren't any medics in the squad, be a medic. Also, in insurgency, if there aren't any rifleman specialists, and there already is a medic, be a specialist. It helps a ton when looking for cache's. The shotgun to breach down the multitude of breachable doors and gates, and the rope is useful for climbing over walls and buildings. You can also help your marksman out this way, if you have one.
