Hatches/Doors opening/closeing

Post by Wh33lman »

I can't explain how annoying it is to be raceing back to base in a tank with alarms blareing at you, your gunner watching your rear for any hostel armor trying to ambush you, and all you can see is the open hatch on the .50 cal turret.

Since the removal of the Combat Engineer as an spawn kit, nobody ever rides in there anymore. and even back in .8 when they did, they were almost sure to be killed by the first enemy round that hit your tank. If the Hatch was closed when not in use, it would allow greater visability on the battlefield. To allow for a 3rd man to ride along, for whatever reason, it would open to allow him access. It could even close when he ducked down inside the turret. To avoid abuse of this, you could not hide inside while reloading, and have to wait to fire untill it is ready, just like when you first enter ther .50 cal turret.

This would also be useful on Humvees and other light vehicals, so the doors would now provide some measure of cover during a firefight.
