We really need a change on Karbala

Good evening everybody, i've done a game on karbala, in chopper, and i'm tired now of that thing that threaten everybody : baserape

Maybe it was because i was playing with french... But, i took first a little bird, taking off, taking shot from technicals, not very hard, i survive, when i return to main base, i took a SA7 on the pod!!!

So, i move to the apache, take it, was locked by SA7 AGAIN but the big red kill me, before i was able to take off, really annoying, how can we play this map if US are continuesly baserape!


I don't have many idea to avoid this, maybe DEVs can put a invisible globe just like on muttrah and barracuda for the carrier which block ennemy at the main base, or put the US main at an another location, maybe A8?

A Invisible 'Globe' On the main base wouldn't be very realistic now would it?

no. if insurgents are baseraping that means us team fails. its not hard to defend the base, a sniper+hat+rifleman specialist on mosque can do the job, thats 3 men taking out numerous enemy technicals SA7 while the rest can go hunt down caches. what you encountered is lack of teamwork, which is very visible and present on french servers, try TG, iGi, T&T, eventually TB.

barracuda and muttrah its not insurency for me insurgents dont have rules they can baserape ,mortar the main base ,and everything . so its not a big deal

I agree with some points, when choppers are above the walls they get killed almost instantly. Either by the thousands of SA-7s that are placed on the map or by the technicals .50 caliber fire. Or both. And as the .50 bullet does so much damage against choppers.

The apache isn't feared anymore/enough, people are more like: lulz the apache has spawned quick get the technicals ready to bumb into him.

It is if they know the base isn't being guarded and can assume that the pilot has no way of easily communicating with the rest of his team. :p

PS : All of you know more of french people are running every where to do a max of kill...

PPS : Yes i'm french, but i could pay to play with english speaker people.

some servers dont allow base rape, try those servers.



But, i do agree, WAYYY TOOOO MANNNYYYY SA-7s.....


The bomb cars are all fair game.


The technicals are annoying..... but there are ways of getting around that.

Tbh, I can't see Karbala staying in PR in future releases - it's not the best map by a long way and unless it was massively expanded, there's not much additional development that can be done on it

The problem is that there are way to many sa-7 on the map and the main base is placed just close enough to enough buildings and towers that even if you have the hole team defending the base you can´t get out.

I can even hit the apache/vehicle spawn with a rpg from that tower...

I really like the map, though I think there should be a reduction in Grails, especially. Technicals shouldn't be able to rip Apaches up as easily, before even coming out of their main.

I wouldn't mind seeing a change in the main base, at least moving it back a bit and making some more space between it and the city. That, or expand the DoD just a bit. I've often, not regularly but often enough, seen either a bomb car get in, the SA-7s from the tower, or the technicals hiding behind the main base just rip right through the Apaches.

I know you can defend the main with just a small squad, but that's so many people off the field, as well as you'd need to be there all the time, because the enemy could attack just as you've turned your back.

Also, am I the only one that thinks the main is a little small for an Apache's helipad?


Otherwise, the map's great. So many different game possibilities.

Look guys, baserape is completely realistic and SHOULD BE ALLOWED on all servers+maps. If you're getting baseraped, as others have said, you aren't using teamwork enough or are just plain stupid. Whining Helo pilots, ever though about scanning the area with your binocs first?

And this "being shot down to easily" garbage- it's due to poor tactics. The zoom functions on the gunners weapons are there for a reason, when giving infantry support in an attack helo you're supposed to hover VERY far away and have the gunner do his work in zoom, not charge in directly overhead looking all badass. Too much camera movement when zoomed in? Then you have a poor pilot who cannot enter dead hovers, and should not be flying. The Apache is an extremely valuble asset and should only be used by those who know it like the back of their hands.

IMO Karbala is perfectly fine the way it is. People just need to play smarter.

Chris, it's not about when you're in the air, it's about how hard it is to get there in the first place. The mian base is set up in such a way that you'd need the entire team by it to defend it proberly when the Apache starts up to ensure that no bomb car comes by, that no one is in one of the many enterable buildings with a grail, or that no technical's set up outside. Other than that, I agree, the map is perfect (though the grails are a bit too common imo).

What exactly is a Grail?? LOL I swear I've never heard the term.

Although I agree with you about the hiding infantry problem, it's kinda hard to hide a technical where you can't see it. Scout on a tower would help with that....or, hell, having a marksman in your CAS squad with sole purpose of keeping the base cleared. Seems to me like there's quite a few alternatives short of redisigning the map.

to defend its base. I speak french, and guess what, i had no problem at taking off or even land... I just make sure there is not 10 guyz waiting for me :)
