What the heck are you talking about? First of all, weapons with iron sights have the same accuracy as scoped ones in PR.
But iron sights are already useless enough at anything but room clearance because while you, having a scoped weapon, can see, identify and aim at the enemy, your enemy with iron sights cannot even aim properly because all he can see is 3 pixels. You don't get that IRL.

Iron sights in a computer game like PR will make more sense in about 2020 when everybody will be playing on 50" 1080p displays.

They are thinner AFAIK, the ACOG chevron in PR is quite wide, and somewhat darker.

I'd get an M4 Ironsights over those scoped tacticool weapons anytime.

As for aiming, it's fairly easy. You need to adjust yourself to a more patient gameplay and less stressed one than COD4. It's all about predicting the possible outcomes and making sure your shot will kill.

I always get the feeling that the devs want pr to be a "sniper game", because in actuality it is very hard to hit targets from the standing position in PR. If you're going to shoot accurately, get prone, otherwise you won't hit anything beyond 100 meters, unless you get lucky.

I believe that is the TA01NSN which I believe was the model that the US Army was using (Has BUIS and no fiber-optic illumination) but they've now decided on the TA31RCO-M150C which has a reticle like so:

OT guys? ;)

There are a bunch of different looks for the ACOG apparently, PR uses the one that is most commonly used by the US military.

Also, as someone mentioned earlier, the deviation is the only way for the developers to represent the many factors you have to take into account when shooting in a combat situation. Sway, stress, etc. are all things that can not be coded, so this is the best that can be done. Just try to think of the deviation as the scope moving around :p

Why not just move to the bf2142 engine? if it has weapon sway, and is pretty much an upgraded bf2 engine

Also since were on the acog topic wouldnt it be better to have something like this for the acog.

Rather than the black frame with a hole in the middle

There's not much more to be said to the OP's post, it's already been answered. Otherwise we'd have to start talking about new engines to do it on, which has it's own thread :p

Can't we at least talk along the same lines as the title, pweeeeaaaaase? :D

Project -Reality- ;)

So, no, sorry :p

And there are currently no plans to change to a different engine, been brought up a lot of times before though :p

ORLY?

An official announcement on what we'll be doing outside of the BF2 engine will be made in the near future.

*EDIT: I think he was talking about the fact that you could see around the sights, like with the red dot scope. Only problem with the pic is that there wasn't any zoom that I could tell, so it's a redundant point to say the BF 2124 engine's better because of that, when there wasn't any evidence of it being so.

yup exactly.

To be clear instead of having the blackframe with the acog reticle in the middle, have seomthing like this image instead.

or even something like this

  • Lots of work
  • Legally you can't use vBF2 assets in it
  • Some features may not work
  • Everyone who wants to play needs to purchase BF2142
