My civilian suggestions

Ok, these are just my personal suggestions. i Have not been playing too long, so take them for what they are worth.

1)When killed as a civilian, you no longer suffer the greatly increased respawn time.
2) No more IP points from killing insurgents. Deadmen tell no tales.

I think this will make it less likely for coalition to purposely kill civilians

3) I am not sure on this one but. Civilians can be identified by holding irons over them. The time to identify will increase at range of course.

This could reduce accidental killings of civilians. While making civilians useful, and less noobish. Just my ideas that I have noticed while playing civilian.

1) No. If a civilian gets shot tickets are taken away from the BLFOR team.

2) When civilians get (arrested) they physically knifed. But it is coded that they are restrained and put in a holding cell. Then I guess they get interrogated.

3) Not realistic. I can tell when someones packing heat at 50m.

1. atm killing civilians does NOT affect blufor tickets, but it should

3. glad you're here to protect us Feuer, but an insurgent with binocs can look the same as a civi at a distance, and most firefights I've been in lately were at 100m +

I would really like to see a change that makes Blufor check their fire around civs. I played as a civ on Fallujah the other night, and I was killed as a civ at least 5 times. I wasn't even doing the human shield thing, I was just trying to lure marines into traps, but they would just gun me down instead of chase. Even after they realized I was a civ, Marines would shoot at me.

I would like to see the following:

-Blufor loses tickets (maybe 5) every time they kill a civ.

-Whoever kills the civ has a 3 minute spawn.

-Would it be possible to teleport a soldier back to main if he kills a civ? Because that would really make people check their fire.

I would even say that the soldier should automatically be killed if he kills a civ, but I know that would probably not work out very well.

I really love the depth added to the game if you make people think twice about killing civs. Drawing Americans into ambushes is really fun, and having to check your fire when you are a Marine searching for a cache and see a civ also adds a new dynamic to the game. Unfortunately, the consequences just aren't great enough to stop people from mowing them down at the moment without too much hesitation.

The greatly increased spawn time is your punishment for killing a civilian that harasses you...
You wouldnt shoot a civilian in real life and get away with it..

Thanks for the responses.
What it really comes down too, is that you are punished for playing a civilian/collaborator. I am just walking along, unarmed. Then I get shot. wait 2 minutes, repeat.
I know they get an increased spawn time, but why should a civilian get one too?
About the human shield thing. You could say it is "realistic" cause human shield tactics do happen. It may make the coalition check their fire more.
Also, not everyone can tell a civilian at 50m. Sure some can. But most just pop anything that moves.

Does the opposing team lose tickets when killing a civi yet? I have read some that sya yes, and some that say no.
What I think needs to happen, is maybe add one more consequence for shooting a civilian that wasn't doing anything. Maybe change the time they were using their medic pack to 30 seconds as well.

I agree with mosinmatt. Playing as a civilian in PR 0.75 was lovely (20s spawn if got killed, 120s if you suicided, 240s or so if you got arrested, and lots of field dressings instead of a medpack).

I sure don't play as a civilian anymore, mostly because of the 2min spawn when you get shot. And even though I know that giving them a medpack makes the insurgent team a bit "better", and tries to compensate the fact that 70% of players prefer being on the Coalition's side, but I'd rather go back to field dressings only.
