Different aircraft
this might have been already said but i didnt see it on the already mentioned page so here it goes
mid-air refueling aircraft:
proably too large and pointless for the map size but i thought that it should be talked about. the jets on bf2/bf2 pr dont have to worry about fuel but i think that will get ground units a break from watching the skies. im just going over the american tankers but i dont know about other countries.
the most reasonable that i thing would be for pr is the kc-130. its small enough to fit on most current runways and in real life and refuel faster fighter aircraft.

but there are other aircraft
the kc-135 might be too large for pr but its still a tanker
http://history.sandiego.edu/gen/USPics38/KC135.jpg
the kc-10 is deff too big but would be cool
http://www.dreamlandresort.com/aircraft/KC-10.jpg
thats all for tankers
new/different heli
mh-53
i think that they are on there way out of service but is still a great work horse of the usaf
it is alot like the merlin but american

i also didnt see the on the already mentioned page either but have ground service cars. its not very realistic to have jets just roll up to an unseen supply station and magicly have ammo loaded on to the jet. or if you do decide to have jets needing to be fueled up have gas trucks and bomb loading cars drive up to the taxing jet and then have them reload/refuel the jet. you could also have a generator standing by for when a pilot first jumps into the jet. i know for a fact that jets need a generator to start up. (this would also be a time killer for the 20 min delay. so that would be reduced but leave more time before it took off.
well those are my best suggestions.
what do you think?
sorry for any grammer errors :d rillserg

Re: Different aircraft
well can tell you right now, there is no possible way to get an ac130, nor a kc130 aircraft in PR its too big, too much lag and some of it might be hard coded, the f18 has been suggested, mh53 has been re suggested i believe all of this has been suggested so please use search function.

Re: Different aircraft
Why would you need mid-air refueling?
That would be incredibly hard for PR since most people dont have good communication in PR between squads..

Re: Different aircraft
This has been suggested several times.
Every topic ends with the same reason, the maps are too small, and aircraft does not have enough flight time before RTB'ing, you have to remember that in real life, jets can be in the air for several hours unless they are running full afterburner.
In PR, jets usually stay in the air for ~10 minutes before landing.
But yeah, if we ever get a carrier and a huge map, I'd love to see F-18's with aerial refueling capabilities.

Re: Different aircraft
Right, regarding tankers it is unfeasable seeing as the average dogfight doesn't leave time to be able to refuel. Realistically we wouldn't even be seeing oposing airforces with airbases even close to being on the map in the scale that PR is fighting (also tankers tend to opperate behind friendly lines therefore no-where near the actual action.)
and then there is the hard coding issue but someone else will have to tell you that.

Re: Different aircraft
True.
I belive I saw a system for it on the forums some time ago, it worked just about perfectly but got cancelled because the maps were to small for it to be "useful"
It was basicly a weapon with alot of ammo who was constanly dropping ammo as long as you were moving, I'm guessing aerial refueling could be used in a way that you'd have a weapon in the jet which you could fire, and jets behind it would get the fuel ammo reloaded a bit while they were behind the fueling jet.

Re: Different aircraft
generally it is going to overcomplicate things for people that already have a hard enough time staying in the air with the ammount of AA in game anyway.

Yeah it was a backwards gun that had a lot of recoil and no projectile. Basically, you couldn't control your speed, and you could either have a primary weapon (like the cannon) that you just held down, or you made a secondary weapon, where you quickly switch back and forth to select and fire weapons. Both aren't great options. I'm not slamming the door, as this IS the only way to have "fuel", but from what I've done, I haven't cracked it...

Re: Different aircraft
That would be hard to do, but if an apc could release a fuel kit with a ballon on it and the person in the jet pressed a button that opend up a mechanical pair of "scissiors" that caught the line and started refueling the plane. That would be cool but would take a heck of a lot of programing, coding, and other long tasks that would be pretty annoying to do.

Re: Different aircraft
Sorry but I don´t think I quite understood that post. You want jets to catch bags thrown up by cars to refuel?

He means like the jets land, then a car comes along to rearm aircraft, instead of just rearming on the runway. This just is a waste if ya ask me, of one man (who just sits around doing knaff all until a jet comes along to rearm) and also, it may be used in the battlefield as well at the base

Re: Different aircraft
Doesn't Desert Conflict have an AC130? I'm almost a 100% sure I've seen/been in/flew/gunned i one of one of their maps.
Maps for the most part are not big enough for either ideas
AA would knock it out of the sky before it could anything, I would be amazed if it got airborne long enough to get into position to fire/long enough to fuel a jet. Since refueling aircraft/AC130s are LARGE SLOW TARGETS.
