I'm pretty Sure that hitler will now be pleased. He will be able to do his 1337 Insertions with the blackhawk. if the devs feel like doin it :P

A total of 115,000 gamers and developers voted for the main award and two other Players Choice awards -- up 35,000 from last year's participation figures, according to Mod DB.

Yes. Even when you do read the manual, there's a lot of stuff to cover. I read the manul, the Wiki, and the forums and got playing experience, then took a lengthy break from PR and, upon returning, forgot I had to wait for the HAT to stabilize before firing it... and killed myself with it.

The stance that "we have nothing against beginners as long as they have the skills of experienced players" is wholly unrealistic.
