What is the developer's opinion about...
...EA's mensagens in their website ?
Before the BF2, EA said that modders would have complete support from their staff, but them nothing was done. NOTHING AT ALL! (AFAIK)
A few weeks ago, there was a mensage about the 0.85 release and now the "congratulations" about the MOTY. It has sounded to me like they wanted to show the public that they support the mods, but the truth is totally different.
What's the developers and all the guys from the PR team think about the EA's mensages?

Who knows, maybe they have a new public relations guy again, who is more mod friendly. I was positively surprised.

That is what annoies (annoyes or annoys ???) me. They don't give a sh** to the PR, but use them for their own benefit.Cptkanito wrote:its very strange, its like they just want good publicity for them
I doubt it, but, anyway, I created this topic to know that too.Cptkanito wrote:or they actually do support PR, we don't know:

Well, maybe they just want to divert from the fact they're still not done with the 1.5 patch. Or they didn't find anything to write news about anymore. Or the Devs bribed them

Hopefully, they will fully support the mods. They could add 128 player support as the first sign of true support.

Re: What is the developer's opinion about...
I was an intern at EA Benelux 2 months ago. Was there for 6 months. I tried pushing up mods there as well. See how they thought about it. And well they are just a business that wants to make money. Currently they have got all these great games coming up. Everyone is stressed out to the max for all the internal deadlines they got for the new games. They make loads of more money on the new games. So the priority will be selling as much of these new games as they can.
Theres new parts of series coming up, new franchises, financial crisis to worry about and all that stuff. They just dont have the time or man power to do all that
I do agree that its a shame. EA would give themselves a really good spotlight when they decide to help the mod community where they can.

Re: What is the developer's opinion about...
there ingame "message from EA" popup about our new release and there congratulations towards us for winning MOTY is nice, but unfortunately its not what we where all promised before and just after BF2 was released
We hope there support is going to improve with there new "community manager" but we dont have our hopes set too high tbh. Really its too late now for any real support they can give us, all we hope is that the new v1.5 patch fixes all these hacking problems with bf2/pr and it dont brake anything that PR needs.

We can't say there is NO support.
They released an editor, and there was some tweaks and guides on bf2editor.org.

the BF2 editor that was meant to be released with BF2, which was released after BF2, and is still the newest build is still technically a beta buildHughJass wrote:We can't say there is NO support.

As for thous guides, they only touched the surface, but ye, gave us a good start. Shame they sacked the guy who was making them a few months after BF2's release....

This link shows how the 1.50 may be a vaporware: BF2 Update 1.50 Security Features - Electronic Arts UK Community
Who knows, maybe it will be released after Duke Nukem Forever ?
