m249 non deployed mode
The non deployed mode is pretty much useless unless maybe you are in doors even than you would be lucky to hit anything, you should have a much better grip onto the weapon.
LiveLeak.com - M249 barrel after 200 rounds
LiveLeak.com - M249 SAW Machine Gun on the RANGE.... rippin.
the video proves that the m249 is not some super beast that point straight into the air if you fire a burst without having the weapon secured to the floor.
Also I think the non deployed mode should be eased up for all automatic riflemen kits, Another thing wouldn't the weapon point down if it were the case you were too weak to be firing it in a non deployed fashioned I would assume that the weapon barrel would force its way downwards and not up if you were holding the weapon correctly.
Btw that guy in the video is not using an aimbot. By the way I am not suggesting you make the weapon that controllable while non deployed for balance reasons but at least make it usable for firing bursts in the crouched or standing position.

Re: m249 non deployed mode
Do notice that the 2 guys in the video have completely braced themselves in the ground and with there stance. In pr you must imagine your adrenaline is pumping, your tired, you can come under fire any moment! Theres no time to dig yourselve in so you can fire that beast standing or crouched accuratly. You can only fire it in the general direction so you can move out fast or at least notice your surroundings.
Those 2 examples are at an firing range where theres no danger and all the time they need to pull that off. Not a realistic example.

Re: m249 non deployed mode
If you fire a burst of 3-5 rounds in un-deployed from crouching you can get a pretty good grouping, the reason it is the way it is, is for game ballance.
No one wants he Automatic Riflemen running round with ub3r weapons being able to put a 6 inch grouping at 200m.

Re: m249 non deployed mode
From my experience in PR you have to wait 3-8 seconds before firing a weapon to get a precise accurate shot, I imagine this is the mods way of playing out how in real life you should prepare your self for firing the weapon aka bracing, and that should be the same for the m249, I agree it will make the kit more desirable and deadly but that's how it should be if you want the most realistic way.cyberzomby wrote:Do notice that the 2 guys in the video have completely braced themselves in the ground and with there stance. Allot of things in PR are overkill destruction but that doesn't mean they will be unstoppable the cobra is a deadly beast if you can use it correctly same with all attk choppers and most all tanks and apcs hell i have gotten up to 80+ kills in a round inside a tank, Just yesterday I got 34-0 on korengal with the US sniper, I have never gotten a score that good with a saw even before deployed mode. so why should the m249 be handicapped its really not some uber weapon.

M249 is already uber weapon, one of my personal favourite, on far distance deployed mode like an automatic sniper rifle, you only need a spotter
undeployed mode is accurate too, no problems with hitting enemies most of the time, first shots are inaccurate, but they suppress, then deviation goes down and you kill

Re: m249 non deployed mode
The recoil of all machine guns in non-deployed mode has already been decreased. There's nothing wrong with them, M249 especially. Real battlefield isn't range.
Edit: it's a resuggestion btw.

Re: m249 non deployed mode
I don't think that should be added on top of time to aim it should remain that way, I mean you can fire a ak74u full auto and get a close grouping from over 50 meters without even waiting to aim.cyberzomby wrote:You have got a good point thereI do think however that the crouching/diggin in time they have comes added in to the time needed to be accurate. They must be able to withstand the force of the weapon.
I think from the time you put the sights to your eye you should be ready to fire in 2-3 seconds depending on how you are shooting in bursts or full auto.

I dont see anything wrong with the non-deployed mode... I find it easier to use when running around with a squad instead of having to set it up :\

As a member that has the 'PR Realistic Support' user bar, you need to understnad that 'having to set it up' is essential in allowing you to cover (support) your squad as they do the running around.Spartan0189 wrote:I dont see anything wrong with the non-deployed mode... But still, yeah, there's not much wrong with the non-deployed mode.

In non-deployed mode SAW is best CQC weapon in PR. It's just awesome.

Yes, But most people usually deploy it when in a firefight or providing support for the squad.Sgt.Smeg wrote:As a member that has the 'PR Realistic Support' user bar, you need to understnad that 'having to set it up' is essential in allowing you to cover (support) your squad as they do the running around.

I just run around with it to provide support if we get engaged.
It would be alot easier if I didnt have to wait for the animation go by every time I whip out the M249, So I just run around with the M249 in non-deployed mode when I run around even though it brings my stamina way down.
